It's a very clean rest stop. The numerous bathroom stalls are nice no waiting. The small store had a variety of items to buy for take away. We ate a breakfast which was alright. So of the items must have been cooked and out for awhile. The poached egg was nicely cooked and bread was nicely toasted. Not sure how prices compare to other area since this was our first experience of a restaurant in Scotland. There also were sweet pastries to but. They did look yummy. read more

A very clean, very quaint services area. The lodge services has a Castle gate that is picturesque. The inside of the stores is quite nice too. The store is brightly lit and well appointed with trinkets to commemortate your visit to the area and goodies made by local artisans. They boast 70 + in total. The cafe makes an mean cup of coffee as does the actual eatery area. Both are well made and quite delicious. The bathrooms were clean and fresh every time we stopped. This was my favorite stop any time we were on the road. read more

Now owned by the same company that run Tebay/Westmoreland Service Stations. The only chance to stay Indy on the M6. Not quite at the standards to match Tebay but better than the mostly awful corporate crud on offer at the Motos and such like. Coffee was reasonable but why stop serving breakfast at the ungodly hour of mid - day? The food on offer was better than the last time I was forced to visit here but very pricey. It is very relaxed though and not as crazy as the other places on the road south. Will I return or stick it out for another hour to Tebay? Well, actually I might. It'll be interesting to see if they get up to the higher standards of the partner service stations. read more
