It is a fun environment from the playroom in the lobby to the tv's on the ceiling. It's very clean and fast. They do a great job working with squirmy kiddos and getting their teeth clean and encouraging them along the way.

This review is a long but necessary one for those parents like me that need more substance. Overall, we love Oak Mountain pediatric dentistry office and know you will too! Our daughter had to have a baby tooth pulled after a great attempt at keeping it as long as possible. Who on earth would think that a child would actually enjoy that experience? My daughter started off a little hesitant but quickly started singing to Frozen during the whole process. They made sure she was comfortable, alert and calm. They have tv's on the ceiling and the chairs are actually more like a relaxing bed. She was involved in the process from choosing her flavor gas to the colors of whatever tools had an option. It truly helped her relax and allow the process since she felt like the decision maker. When I tell you that as a parent, I actually almost teared up that we found this place. Not only were they able to extract the problem tooth, they identified a smaller cavity that could turn into a problem and fixed it at the same appointment in addition to coating her other molars to protect them. The quality of care is superb. They answered every question and even leading up to the procedure called to check on us. They provided after hours instructions. I could go on and on. If you're thinking about bringing your little ones here, I'd recommend acting now before they're full and can't take any new patients!

Other tongue-tie specialists were "booked" and were giving several weeks minimum before we could get an initial appointment! As a parent with a child in pain - this is a brutal thought! Dr. Baxter reserves appointment times for parents in these sort of emergency situations. He cares deeply and has HIGH integrity with his patients while also exhibiting strong leadership skills with his staff. The entire office experience from start to finish is one of compassionate care. I always had enough time to comfort and nurse my little one before and after my appointment in a private room away from everything. I could easily access our medical records at any time and all my questions were acknowledged and answered. oh, I almost forgot. We received a phone call the afternoon after our tongue-tie surgery from Dr. Baxter himself checking-in on our child's status and he gave us insights and alleviated any fears about post-op procedures. We also could text a phone number at any time, as needed. Then weeks later, he welcomed us back for an unexpected additional appointment to alleviate another very new parent concern without shaming us or charging us. lol I sincerely thank God for Dr. Baxter. Can not recommend this man and his lovely, caring staff enough.

We have never had a tantrum, a crying fit, or a bad experience - and one of mine had to have a tooth pulled and pediatric cap applied even! Dr. Baker Chambliss and his staff have taken great care of my daughters' dental needs since they were babies. Medplex Pediatric Dentistry was a FaNTaSTiC decision for our family's Pediatric dental care.

I called the office and made an appointment to do so. Took my son into the office, he had a complete meltdown in front of everyone. It took them 5-10 minutes to get us a room, even after I had informed them of our situation with our son. Went into the room and the dentist was not available. He walked into the room about 20 minutes after we arrived, at this point my son is screaming like crazy. Dr. Baker did an exam and told me that he would have to set up an appointment to have it pulled. What in the world, I made that appointment when I called. He argued with me over it, unbelievable, he could have pulled my sons tooth in the time it took for him to have his say with me. Let me tell you it is obvious he is not a patient dentist and is very rude and obnoxious. He told me that my appointment was for an exam and that I would have to schedule to have it pulled. Then he proceeded to tell me that he had 14 other people to attend to and slammed the door as he left the room. Unprofessional, and unbelievable, what a terrible example of showing to me that we were not wanted in that office and it showed. He showed my son no respect and me no respect. So I would definitely expect for him to do the same to your family. He is terrible and I would never recommend him to anyone. To treat people like trash, is not good customer service at all, shame on your Dr. Baker and your practice. I will make sure others know not to use you, and your services!

My 6-year-old and 10-year-old do not like their dental appointments, but today, they were put at ease. Dare I say, they will probably not be apprehensive of their follow-up in the Fall. The lobby caters to kids of all ages. There are tablets mounted on the walls with games that kids will like, a tv playing children's programming, and toys the smaller kids would enjoy. The office even has WiFi so us parents have something to enjoy. When my kids went to the back, Dr. Crawford-McKendall and her assistant made sure to explain what they were doing each step of the way. They also talked to the kids about the importance of brushing and flossing in a kid-friendly, positive way. The doctor also explained any concerns she had to me and told me what I steps I can help the kids take to ensure they continue to have great teeth. I'll definitely bring my boys back and I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist for their children.
