Ok, good place to eat. But they show donuts and then don't have any? Other than that it good.

Due to the holiday and the latter hour, a lot of restaurants were shutting down. Saw a recommendation on here for this place and made a call. They were closing in less than an hour but told be to bring my party in. We were immediately sat . Our server Boni attended us and made great recommendations. I'll post some pages form the menu because the choices were vast.and adventurous. If you're in town, please check it out. Right by the town square. The staff was wonderful, warm and welcoming. Great attentive service. Didn't have room for dessert and they also had a breakfast menu.

Excellent meal! Good for tourists - they have an English version of the extensive menu as well…read more Beautiful space with colorful murals and glass chandeliers. We started with complimentary fresh salsas and a savory cheesy bite. Very nice! One of the salsas had a real spicy kick, which I enjoyed. Also split and shared: - Sopa de Lima, a regional chicken and lime soup. Loved this! It was a light, brothy dish, and felt very nourishing. Delicious. Also tried adding some of the fresh salsas (as suggested). - Enchiladas Mole Negro. I'm glad I tried this one! Made me feel like I've never actually had authentic mole in my life. This was really rich, with complex flavor. Was sweet as well, and savory. - Tacos Cochinita Pibil. Yummy! Loved this with the salsas as well. Which, by the way, were refilled! A friend got the grasshopper appetizer as well which turned out to be a pretty sizeable plate full. So we all got to try that as well! Not bad not bad. Not quite what I was expecting, but I was happy to try it! (I thought they'd be salty and crunchy; actually they were softer and tasted a bit tea like. Leisurely and relaxed dining. Nice drinks too. So many agua Fresca options! I got a guava lime one.

I was in town for a rock climbing trip and was treated to a few of Chef Oscar's incredible breakfast dishes (privately catered red/green sauce chilaquiles, avocado/salsa on waffles, and mexican omelette with fresh squeezed OJ). The food was incredible, tasty fuel for our intense days. It was a no brainer that my friends and I had to visit Chef Oscar's restaurant for dinner as well. I had the Caldo Mextizo, a flavorful mexican soup with a mild kick filled with chunks of nopales, beef and mozarella queso. It's a deliciously hearty yet warm cuddle served in a stone bowl. The second night, I fought the temptation to order Caldo Mextizo again and went for the Hamburguesa MexTiza. If a small person can mow down a hamburger the size of her head, you can bet this burger is incredible! Hefty burger patty filled with queso, nice bread and a surprisingly awesome side of fries. When I return, I look forward to indulging in both dishes again, reconnecting with Chef Oscar and reliving the fun memories we had at lovely the outdoor patio of Restaurant Casa Mextizaje. Note: The Google Translate app works well to translate the menu from Spanish to English. Shout out to Chef Oscar for a special 35th birthday dinner that I will never forget. Gracias amigo. Hasta luego!
