If you're ever have the opportunity to visit Porto, Portugal, you're in for a real treat. Our short…read moretrip to Porto we ate at several very nice places and enjoyed lots of great wine. But by far our favorite evening was spent on the banks of the Duro river, drinking wine and ordering small plates of food at Wine Quay Bar.
We got really lucky to get a primo spot overlooking the Douro at the wine bar; it was picture perfect. With the help of the server we ordered a Douro Valley wine - a dry, fruity white. It was tastilicious. This place had an all appetizer menu -- like tapas in Spain. We had olives, a sublime soft sheep's milk cheese, bread, sardines in tomato sauce and pigs feet ... indescribably succulent, all of it.
This place is a no-brainer for some of the most amazing food and wine in one of the most beautiful places one could enjoy them.
