Situated in one of the…read moreoriginal Dock buildings in the SA1 regeneration area, the cafe retains it's historic feel but with modern comforts. A fabulous place to come at any time of day, the cafe caters to a comfortable prolonged breakfast/brunch with delicious luxury salmon and eggs benedict as well as simpler fare. There is plenty of choice throughout the menu, kept simple but allowing customers to choose their choice of fillings, style between breads, jacket potatoes, salads and omelettes etc. Breads go from simple white to spelt and cornbread, delicious and generous portions. The owner specialises in mini homemade welshcakes instead of the ubiquitous bulk bought individual biscuits accompanying pots of teas. Cakes and puddings stand out along with speciality teas and coffees.

Costa was busy but there were a few seats - in fact, I got a nice comfy corner seat which was a bit like a soft sofa with a table in front. The lattes are lovely and served in a tall glass (nicer than the Starbucks' ones which always come in a chunky mug, and cheaper too). Good for snacks and cakes as well by the look of them although I didn't indulge in extra calories myself! The staff were pleasant and helpful and there wasn't any background music, which made chatting to my friend easier. I'll definitely go there again the next time I'm in Swansea.

However, I unfailingly get a decent cup of coffee there. it is rather expensive ( I drink a flat white which at time of writing is 2.40 gbp) and the reward points aren't as lucrative as other coffee shop loyalty cards, but I've never had a dud coffee from this branch, or the one in Fforestfach, or the one in Carmarthen.

We both really enjoyed ourselves - beautiful, chill and often picturesque. A most notable observation was how warm, laid back and friendly the people are. This Starbucks reflected this in Spades. The young lady that took our order was wonderful, took her time to talk and advise us, and to bring our late breakfast food items to our table. The place was impeccably clean and bright - and maybe this was my imagination but my Venti skinny latte tasted like it does in the US (typically so bitter in most U.K. Starbucks). Add to the above that there is no Starbucks at all in Swansea itself - and hardly any in the whole area - a definite must visit - two thumbs up!!
Outside patio - nice!

I ate here after looking through all the other restaurants in the area and deciding against it. Loved the baked potato I was served - cooked in the oven which is a rarity, it appears. Atmosphere was quite nice but it seems you were paying for that in the prices a bit. I think it was £1 for a bottle of water which, I'm sure you'll agree, is slightly ridiculous. Still, a lovely, filling meal and one I enjoyed. I suppose the atmosphere was quite worth it, really, because it's not somewhere overwhelmingly fancy; it's rather just a nice, quiet place to eat. It's not small, either, very large with lots of welcomed space between tables. I would definitely recommend this if you're considering eating out in Swansea.

It is slightly different from the other local Starbucks as apparently it is a franchise of Starbucks, only small differences with a price menu on top of the display cabinet instead of individual priced sandwiches etc. The cafe is well laid out with plenty of comfy chairs and as the Village has free wifi so a cheaper way of accessing emails and qype :) than the standard Starbucks tmobile tariff. Plenty of choice with their sandwiches, paninis and cakes and staff were friendly and efficient.

Quite convenient in fact if you wish to killl a little time whilst waiting for the next train to arrive as there is little refreshment facility in the station itself. I popped in the other day for a quick cup of tea and ended up purchasing a Swansea Bap (three item breakfast bap inc. the tea) which set me back £2.50. They do a breakfast for £3 and a large breakfast for £4, vegetarian options are available. They do roast dinners for lunch and variety of meals inc burgers, liver & onions, faggots , pies pasties etc. Plus a whole range of snacks & jacket potatoes. All of which are reasonably priced in the £3 to £4 bracket. You can also purchase food to take out as well as sit in. The decor is a little old fashioned but very clean. The service is both prompt & curteous too. Seems quite busy at meal times. It is a little bit away from the town centre & quadrant shopping but its close proximity to the station means its not short of customers. Highly recommend a visit.
