A really good restaurant - especially for lunch on week days!…read more We went here twice with my GF - once on a week day and tried their menu-of-the-day and a second time on Saturday, to get a taste of their lunch menu. Both time we were highly satisfied, although the price-quality ration is definitely better on a week day. On the week day, my GF had a pumpkin soup (according to her the best she ever tried - it actually was pretty darn good), followed by their vegetarian dish of the day (that was pretty good). On my end, I had their pork chop with curry rice and roasted broccoli. Sauce was amazing, chops were really good and the rice curry was pretty darn good. Satisfied with the result, we asked for a dessert and were rather pleasantly surprised - a sort of creme with chantilly was absolutely delicious and neither overly sweet nor overly fatty. Very happy with our visit there, we came back on a Saturday a couple of weeks later and tried out their on-the menu dish. That time around I went for a couscous and my GF - for a tarte flambée as well as a salad. The salad was amazing, but the Tarte and the couscus, while pretty darn good, were subpar compared to the dish of the day we had the last time. The seating is rather spacious and separated, so sitting inside is reasonably precautious, although they also have an outside sitting for those who don't mind the cold and want to be extra safe. Overall a great place, looking forwards to coming back there again.

We were immediately greeted and seated by the host. NOTE: Some of the servers did not understand us. The manager serviced us and was never seen again. Service was rather slow or they were avoiding us due to a language barrier. We ordered our food and drinks in one go. I noticed others had butter for their table, we weren't offered any. The amuse-bouche was delicious. I let the server know I'm pregnant. They didn't really give us an explanation of what the dish was. Mine was a bruschetta with a quail egg. Delicious. Worth ordering. My husband ordered the lobster risotto and I had the Rindsragout. We shared the white wine soup with Zander fish. The mushrooms and pomme puree was delicious. Lobster was tender and juicy. Fish was tender Service was subpar, again I believe it's because we are American and only spoke English. The locals were treated very bery well. Haha wish i was a local. I wanted to order hot water for my tea but a server wasn't present. My husband's drink was also empty during our entire meal. Dessert was amazing. We had a pineapple merengue looking dessert. I didn't catch the name. The bruschetta and dessert was the highlight of the meal. Prices were fair. The interior decor was unique. OVERALL: Wouldn't come back here during the summer when we visit again. It was the service that turned us off. Food is 3 out of 5 Service is a generous 2.

Overall I liked the food, but found prices high even by Swiss standards. The daily lunch menu is…read morereasonable at 24 CHF, and includes a meat and vegetarian option, and starter. When I went there was a tomato cream soup to start. This was very tasty, and came in a huge portion (easily enough for two), accompanied by bread. The main was pork with apricot/rosemary sauce, potatoes, and two large white asparagus spears and one green. This was all good, though the pork had some excess sinew in some areas. My friend had the sea bass, which was 45 CHF for a rather small portion. This was accompanied by veggies and potatoes. Both our dishes were good. I often find Swiss German restaurant food too salty for my taste, and everything here was well seasoned. A caveat if you want a quick lunch: we were the first to arrive for the lunch service, and even then it took about 35 minutes from ordering to have our main courses served. The servers were friendly and professional. I liked the ambiance of the place; there are a couple rooms inside, and the garden (where we sat) has a cozy feel with a tree covering part of the space. The only downside of sitting outside is you can hear the cars and trams going by. To sum it up, the food is good and a reasonable value if you get the lunch special. Pretty much anything else will feel very expensive (e.g. 75cl bottle of water for 9.50), and to me the food is solid but not special enough to warrant the prices.

You usually expect this dish to be good only along the south of France, but these folks in Merton got it right. The second item was a hamburger with bacon and a juiciness that surprised me.
