Classic cafe and very popular with pretty much every age group it seemed, little old ladies on their own, middleaged men, teenagers, couples and families with well-behaved children. People ended up sharing tables with strangers and it was a lovely overall ambiance. I of course chose the vegetarian breakfast menu, which consisted of two rolls, butter, cheese, tea (from Johan&Nyström) or coffee, apple slices, cucumber and tomato, 1 boiled egg, juice and a fruit smoothie. One roll was adorably heart shaped and the breakfast was very generous and filling. We shared a freshly baked cinnamon bun too and it was wonderful. This is an area that i would not have expected to find a (at least good) cafe in so when I spotted this I just had to go in there. The design of the place gives a slight Starbucks feel but I still wanted to try it. Service was extremely friendly and clearly they put a lot of care and attention to everything they serve here. When we were there they were serving coffee from Johan&Nyström but also looking at serving coffee from newly established Obscura. Bread and pastries are baked daily (not on site but from a nearby bakery) and they make all the sandwiches and such on site. Very tasty and fresh. Further it is clear that they have put some thought into what people may want more than good food and coffee. There are numerous power outlets everywhere so great if one needs to sit with computer/pad for a longer time and that should for example appeal to the students around. All in all a welcome addition to the cafe scene in Helsinki.
