Great views for starters. Good selection of beer, and nice to see a slightly more casual menu on…read morethis end of town as opposed to some of the other restaurants. Downsides: you have to order inside at the bar. Not a big deal? Well it is when there are at least twenty five other people trying to do it at the same time. Upside is, you pay when you order, so once you're finished, you can just take off. No waiting for the bill. Downside... it's a BAR. More than likely after ordering your food and first drink you are not going to be done. You're gonna want another beer. Another cocktail. One more app. So then you have to wait in line again.. and by this time it's only gotten longer. C'est la vie. The fish and chips were surprisingly fantastic. Good crisp on the outside, and the fish was flaky and moist. Mozz sticks were "eh" and they were not served with the classic marinara sauce.. but a smoky red pepper sauce that lacked flavor. The chicken tenders are anything but tender and look like they came frozen and prepackaged. But the pizza looked cheesy and well made. (Didn't get to try it.) So I supposed it all depends on what you're in the mood for.

This review is for breakfast…read more My husband and I perused all the cafes along the port. Most had typical French fare of coffee & croissant. It is usually a challenge to find a cafe that serves American type breakfast with eggs. This place had eggs & even bacon or sausage. Score! For €12.50 we had a good size portion of scrambled eggs & bacon, fresh squeezed juice (Orange or grapefruit), 1/2 baguette & hot drink. Good value and tasty. They even have my favorite coffee, Lavazza.

Nice patio to overlook the port and people watch is all that was worth the experience I had…read more Though I only stopped for a drink. It was the worse raspberry mojito I have ever had. I don't know if there was any rum in it. But it didn't taste fresh or minty. And the raspberry seemed like fake syrup and not like real fruit at all. Surprisingly France makes a great mojitos so I expected more than the syrup ice mess that I had for 9€. Service was slow too and they're very eager to have u pay as soon as u get ur items. Prob bc easy to walk away or possibly bc u pay and can't complain about how bad stuff is

Stopped in to use the restroom and have some beers while we strolled this port town. Got in…read moretrouble for not saying bonjour before (nicely) inquiring about the restrooms. Lol ok ok, I get it--sorry, I apologized sweetly and he directed me. The hazing continued even as I ordered $60 in drinks/tip at bar. I mean, ok, I got it--say bonjour first. No need to rake me over the coals. I think the people in this (gorgeous) town need to relax. Life is too short to be mean to your guests who financially support your economy.

It was our first time in Marseille and we were trying to find a nice lunch spot, so we looked on…read moreYelp and found "Urban Kitchen". Here's my feedback: 1. The waiters and baristas seemed totally overwhelmed with what only seemed like a half full restaurant. We were seated next to parked cars in a dark street corner, even though half of the restaurant was empty. There is no chance everything was reserved, because we got there an hour before the restaurant was closing.... 2. No one was willing to talk to us about a food/drink order. After waiting for 35/40minutes we respectively left the premises and had to go the counter and pay because no one wanted to give us the bill. Upside: the coffee came quickly. 3. The food seemed overpriced and mediocre from what we could see. Brunch is only every Sunday AND just in winter..so don't be fooled. 4. Unfriendly and unwelcoming staff, after we paid we kind of got waived out the restaurant for absolutely no reason. It seemed tourists or non French people aren't welcome here and get treated second class. All in all I don't recommend trying this place since our experience was really disappointing and negative. I know running a restaurant is not easy and it only was our experience, so if you go I whole heartedly wish you a better experience.
