For desert order anything with a side of vanilla sauce--it comes piping hot in a small canning glass. The views and woodwork of the upstairs dining room are a feast for the eyes. Rud-Alpe is my favorite of all the on-slope dining options in Lech-Zürs.

Inside it's a typical ski hut with an all wooden rustic setting. Service is attentive and friendly. On the menu they offer all the Austrian classics including Käsespätzle, Gröst'l and Wiener Schnitzel. The food is quite good and portions are big. During winter season this place is packed for lunch on every given day. Make sure to make reservations a day ahead especially if the weather is good and you want to sit on the terrace. Good value for money.

By chance we spotted a poster and booked a table for dinner on a lovely summer evening. They have a wonderful outdoor area, and the whole ambiance is very cozy. The menu is nicely concise, with something for everyone. I had the vegetable curry, which was delicious -- not spicy at all. If you like it hotter, there's a chili olive oil on the table to spice things up, but be warned, it's really hot. Service was very attentive and friendly. On the downside, prices are on the higher end for this type of restaurant. Still, we had a great evening and will definitely try it again next summer or next winter.

The Schneggarei is located in a typical ski hut just at the bottom of a piste. Just come down the slope, take of your ski and you're in. The setting is all wood, rustic and very cozy. Service is friendly, quick and efficient even on a busy day. For lunch they have a smaller menu so that the waiting time for the guests is as minimal as possible. I can recommend all of their pizza which come from a brick oven. The crust is thin and crispy. The burger is nice as well, the bun fresh and crispy, the 100% beef patty done perfectly to your order. Excellent value for money. I'd be happy to come back for dinner to try out different dishes.

What is wrong with people. Leave your FU!!ING pets at home. It's a restaurant not a kennel. If you are an American stay away. Even the patrons here are rude. It's like they tried to put a restaurant in someone's out house. But I think this place would be great if you like a real tiny shit box, that has terrible help and rude customers. And you like pork, and will be eating surrounded by dogs this is a place for you. Otherwise save your money and go to McDonalds. I am still waiting for Service. The picture is my bottle of wine out of reach and for some reason they will not pour me a glass. I think when we walked in and they realize were Americans and gave us a dirty look pretty well set the tone for dinner. Well the salad finally came. I did tell them we were sharing but it is too much to get an extra plate. Still no help inside they're busy helping the local guests with the dogs. Little do they know while I'm sitting here angry, I just keep adding to this review. Maybe their training the new help tonight or something. Maybe if she's not too busy texting I could get another slice of bread. I think doubtful. The sad thing is I tip better than most of these cheapskate locals that don't have two nickels to rub together. Ok and for dinner ?? Mystery meat!! I have had better food while incarcerated.. I'm going out for s real meal .. still hungry. Then they took our plates and we weren't even done eating. Well at least the wine was good. Bottom line. Alphorn is the locals' favorite in Zug and now mine too…read more Zug has a reputation as the one remaining authentically bucolic Lech-Zürs town and did not disappoint. We hiked over for dinner this indian summer evening via the Zuger Tobel and arrived at Alphorn with the Alpenglow. (Another option would have been from the first leg of the Lechweg, accessible on foot via suspension-bridge over the Lech, just a few hundred meters from Alphorn.) Mid-week, end of season and yet there wasn't an empty seat. We dined on the veranda, with soups to start, mains from the Tageskarte and strudels to end. Local ingredients, impeccable preparation and service. Austrian comfort food at its best!
