Various coffee and espresso chains and cafes in Europe supersede the chains here in the US. Coffee consumed across various European countries have yielded a smoother experience on the palate: there is less acidity, more depth all while remaining robust and balanced. I prefer less acidity and smoothness. That being said, these chains deliver amazing lattes. Never had such a pleasant creamy experience and to the point of being decadent. While I find the pastries in their Copenhagen branches to be a bit better, their croissants can compete on a smaller scale with those sampled in Paris. The layout of their seating areas is also equally warm and inviting. When locals roost, they do so unobtrusively: ie, share conversations in a hushed manner. So unlike the many shouting and loud verbal matches as evident every morning at various local Starbucks in the Bay Area. Who knew those aging lungs would yield such audibly jarring content! We went to several Espresso Houses during our stay in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway and the experience was the same: beautiful and inviting spaces, great assortment of delectable pastries, and amazing espresso drinks.

I do enjoy a local beer once in awhile when abroad, yes, but that is a different story! A good IPA or Pale Ale and I am in! We went here on a Saturday night around 6 to grab a bit. It was still many seats free, but the best once were taken. We went for the burgers and did not regret. The Mexican with guacamole and hot jalapenos is a hit! A bit on the stingy side regarding the cole slow side dish. The girl waitering on us was super friendly. Just one TV-screen so your sport freak company won't loose focus on you. Walking in, the atmosphere was pretty casual with people talking it up with one another and enjoying coffee. The baristas at the counter were super welcoming and helpful when it came to choosing which drink I wanted to get. I decided to get a latte with an espresso made from Ethiopia beans and my friend got a pourover (V60) made from the Costa Rica beans. The latte was amazing and it was super smooth with the Ethiopia espresso. I tried some of the Costa Rica pourover and it was great, it had a nice and light taste to it and I loved it so much I decided to buy a bag of the Costa Rica beans. I also loved how they serve their pourovers in an Erlenmeyer flask, it made me so happy! As I was enjoying my drink, I began to talk with one of the baristas about coffee and it was great to meet such people that were so enthusiastic about coffee living their dreams and making this amazing coffee. I know I'll be back here again whenever I'm back in Sweden. Until then, I'll be missing this place on the daily.

One star for staff and one star for really good espresso though too cold, but one star off for boring environment, one star off for lousy selection of sandwiches at a rip off price and one star off for not accepting AMEX.
