Sure, you can find the classic bakery coffee places and some of the Italian joints have (badly burnt) espresso, but a decent cup of nicely roasted coffee? Nah. So when this new Café opened its doors (get it?), I just had to try it out! So, what can I tell you? The coffee was good, the cake was great... but the one thing that I enjoyed the most was the friendliness of the staff/owners. Seriously, we could use more of that around here!

The one and only cute Asian inspired dessert shop in central Munich. They often have a line or it's…read morefull. I went near opening so there was little to no line. I was able to get a table for myself with a dessert and two drinks. The drinks are good and as expected, they had hot chocolate where you can add the drink to the chocolate separately. I got the Matcha hot chocolate and the white chocolate and a separate cup with the hot Matcha to be added separately by yourself. I love that because it allows customers to adjust the amount of chocolate they want or the Matcha. I'm surprised that this type of shop is still very new idea in Munich. They have many of these in New York City, such as Prince teahouse and grace Street. But I'm super glad that they're adding these type of aesthetically pleasing shops in Munich.

Café Bismarck on Bismarck Street…read more... Location: A bit outside of the city center, but perfect for those who have business in the Zollhausarea, university, hospital, school etc. Drinks: large selection of coffee variations. The coffee is pretty ok, not the best I've ever tried, but decent enough to stop by every so often ;) (And trust me, I do know the difference between good/bad coffee!) The chai latte was not too much to my liking, but try a latte macchiato and add some extra espresso (or vanilla/caramel/etc. shots if you prefer the Starbucks-style) and you can't go wrong! Food: Huge, ever-changing selection of mostly homemade food! Sandwiches, wraps, quiche, salads, soups, cookies & cake...so many things to chose from, and all of them are delicious! (I really (!!) love the wraps!) Staff: Really friendly, sometimes you might have to wait a little until you can order, if there's only one person behind the counter and the students are queuing during their lunch break. The café itself is a charming little coffee shop, decorated with a passion for detail, and plenty of seats. During summer you can also sit outside - perfect for people watching, but slightly loud due to its location next to a street crossing. Bottom line: * Perfect if you have some business in this area * Homemade food (try the wraps! Or the quiche! Or the sweet pastries....! ) * Coffee is decent enough ;) * Really nice spot, also in summer!

Really there is nothing bad about this place, apart from the fact that sometimes it's a bit busy and it seems like a hipster magnet - but that just makes the people watching all the more fun!
