Beautiful parlor-like setting in an old home or bank building (safe in basement holds supplies) outside of the old town area. Far fewer tourists here, which is a plus for me (also a tourist). A wonderful team of ladies taking orders from their fully stocked refrigerated cases, where you pay, they fill your tray, then you select the seats you want. You can reserve seats like big upholstered chairs for two by a window. Our cafe seating was just fine. Ordered ham and cheese quiche plus a Karelian pastry with a rice-egg porridge in the middle. I liked it better than the quiche. It was so rich in flavor, you could probably only eat one. Buy more for later at home. The coffee was perfection and their soup-bowl sized cups were perfect for burying your face in each sip. If you are hitting old town, carve out an hour to savor this gem. Settle in, shut off those phones, and talk. Good gluten-free, dairy-free options! read more
