Asparagus chocolate? Oh Europa, you so crazy... and I…read morereally, really, really like it. We came here after lattes at a nearby deli and were wanting to grab just a few sweets and you know how that goes... we left with a 1/2 backpack full of goodies for around $12. Not too shabby. The shop also sells wine and other candies but we were on a strictly chocolates mission. Their entire selection beautiful. The kind of chocolates that look like they belong in a wealthy old lady's curio cabinet. All the family jewels on display. The woman working in the shop spoke no English and we spoke none of the native language but managed to get by with only a few things getting lost in translation... like the price. We thought the price listed was per piece of chocolate, so at first we were being kind of modest with our order, but then when she rung us up and our bill was basically nothing, we started to add a butt-load of stuff on. Matcha green tea chocolate bar, liqueur chocolates... you name it, we had the shop girl toss it in our bag. So, how was the asparagus chocolate? Good. No very asparagus-y, but my mouth did tingle when I finished eating it and my pee did smell a little funny after. Just kidding... maybe. ** Extra points earned because this is one of the only places we went to the Czech Republic that happily accepted credit cards.

Delicious chocolates and ice cream and the lady was very friendly as well! I don't know why I have…read moreto write more characters - It's a chocolate shop.

Le Chocolat is one of my favourite places to get high quality chocolate in Prague…read more This shop has everything to satisfy every kind of chocaholic. They claim to have the widest selection of Lindt products and truffles in town, but I am particularly a sucker for the other chocolate gems on offer - like the excellent Laboko brand, or the exactly 50% cocoa content Amattler chocolate bars (wonderfully halfway between milk and dark chocolate; a treat that I can otherwise hardly find in Prague). There is also a big selection of Le Chocolat own branded products, such as chocolate covered fruit or nuts, or bars with unique ingredients such as dates & mint, hibiskus, etc. (If you enjoy the Le Chocolate brand, you can also sit down and treat yourself with many more of their products in Le Chocolat's cafe at Nerudova street). These are high end chocolates, so obviously, the prices are quite high for Czech standards, so this tends to be more of a place to go for gifts or an occasional treat. But compared to what one would pay for the same products abroad or online, the shop is not overpriced. Also, talking about gifts, particularly the Amattler chocolates come in a nice range of decorative covers with Alfonse Mucha art, so these might make a nice gift for someone who also 'eats with their eyes'. The location at the ground floor of the Quadrio shopping center is very convenient, as the shopping center is right above the Narodni Trida metro station on the line B (yellow line), so you can't get more central than that.
