What can one say about a venue like "Suite au Chocolat"? Well, it would seem that it is quite a gem…read morein the middle of Trier's old town and it is so for many reasons: To start with, there is the atmosphere - very cozy, the decor immediately provides patrons with an intimate feel. A cocoon and oasis to relax not too far off the main street of the oldest German city. Whether you go here with friends or your special someone, it is a perfect location to let routines be routines - and enjoy a level of customer service that is rare in such establishments in Germany (but also in Luxembourg). The range of items on the menu is, well, very chocolatey and diverse! For instance, you can get hot chocolate with raspberry and blueberry flavour, white chocolate, to name just a few. Plus, there are lots of cakes, crêpes and other small somethings to suit every taste under the sun. The one thing that really strikes me about "Suite au Chocolat" is the knowledge and passion that the employees bring to their work. It is evident that they possess an in-depth awareness of all things chocolate, thus leaving customers with not merely a high level of service, but also an experience of sorts. I can only recommend that everyone on here try it out - it's more than worth it!

It was ok, but when the door opened it got pretty chilly. The online menu did not match what was available in the location, but with how things are it makes sense they would limit. We were able to make it work and the cappuccino was made perfectly. Nice, clean quiet place to stop and enjoy some conversation with friends and family.

The last place I visited before leaving Trier. Got a little hungry and had sometime before the…read moretrain arrive so I popped into this place. Wonderful little cafe near the train station. Very little space but the service and food will have you coming back. I walked in and some university students were having a debate. I take a seat in the corner and do a little ease dropping. It's nice to watch motivated youth organizing themselves in something positive. I scan over the small menu and decide I needed some warm soup on this very cold night. My company decides on an non-alcoholic drink. The thought of leaving kept me from my meal for much of the time. The place is so inviting with the dark wood, comfy environment, and nice music. There's also a patio area, but I avoided that because of all the noise and large amount of smokers. Plus it was cold and the Florida in me couldn't take it. We just sip our drinks and take in the place while I try not to think about leaving the area. But this is the type of place you'd want to come back too. So, genug gejammert. Die leckere Suppe - sweet potatoes! (Soup is awesome!) Nice and creamy. Seasoned by not spicy. And trinkt dazu unbedingt einen Chai Latte and be thankful for the strong wifi connection. Wifi seems to be a luxury when in the area. This place is suppose to have a great breakfast but I was never here before the sun went down. Bathrooms were covered in graffiti as I'm come to know in some of the more popular areas. Lots of posting about events in the area if you are looking for something to get into but Klasse Service!

The Cafe is right across from the train station! Perfect for people coming into the city!! The atmosphere is real chill. I don't know how, but they are always playing dope music! It takes me by surprise all the time, like how do they know these songs!! However, I can't complain. I normally just get regular coffee, 'cafe crema'. My girl gets the chai lattes and swear they are the best in Trier! (They are pretty good). This is a great cafe to chill and study and catch up with friends. I definitely recommend it!

Decent place to people watch, but much to cold on the night that visited. Thursday Cocktails are a must. Huge selection of drinks and everything as a reduced price all night. But what I love about this place they have a listing of great non-alcoholic drinks that will temp your palate as hard as the booze. Waiter and bartender was very attentive and thankfully spoke English - but still allowed me to stumble around in my choppy Deustch. You must come with an appetite. I ordered what I htought would be the smallest item on the menu. A simple burger. The think was over 1/2 lb, seasoned deliciously and placed on a carb filled delicious bun with a huge plate of fries. Germans like to eat. But thankfully the quality of the food is not reduced. I was only pissed that I wouldn't be there for the Saturday Latin Night. I can assume that this place will be just as lively since it surrounds a lot of universities ad people were already clearing the floor around us to dance to the music on a foggy Thursday night. There were no tvs so not a place to watch a game, but good place to celebrate after.

We checked into Park Plaza and walked out and saw this place. We ordered the crunchy chicken…read morebreast, the steak and the macaroni and cheese. It was very good! The service was nice and the food came out hot and all our meals were wonderful. I recommended trying it!

Nestled away in a dark, heavily-wooded ravine, the Waldhaus Eifel offers fantastic seclusion and a little piece of heaven for those individuals wanting to sneak away to somewhere quite while in Germany. The food is stellar, with a wide variety of traditional German fare along with a smattering of other options from around the world. We sat on the outside veranda which offered a quite, peaceful lunch with only the wind through the trees making any noise. I ordered the Jagerschnitzel with Mushroom Cream Sauce and was exceptionally pleased with the meal. The entrée came with a house salad, which was almost as good as the main course! My friend and I enjoyed several beers with my favorite being the Erdinger Weissbier. Our waitress spoke excellent English and was very nice. The hotel is good, with traditionally smaller rooms than you would find in America, but this is Europe. There did not seem to be air conditioning, so the room got a little hot during the night. Also, the bed left something to be desired with regards to comfortable mattresses. In the morning, the hotel offered a spectacular European breakfast, replete with sliced procuitto, melon, and cake. The also offered a wide assortment of hot dishes to include eggs, bacon, and sausage. Strongly recommended for the traveler looking for a quiet place to sneak away and relax.
