Located just outside the train station in Malaga, this small cafe is pure heaven for people watchers or those wanting to catch their breath before or after the train or bus.
Settled in between several streets, you have a birds eye view of the local pulse of the city.
The cafe is small - several tables are outside the awning and then maybe ten small tables under the awning.
We stopped on a lazy late Friday afternoon in April for a coffee and an ice tea aka Nestea (which was actually a Fuze brand ice tea :) ) . They serve alcoholic beverages also. We did not see a menu or tapas which was fine, we did see several people drinking beer and tapas were also carried out.
What I liked a lot - two staff, one was on floor handling people efficiently at the tables. Other was behind the counter getting drinks to counter. Both made eye contact with all patrons and both were welcoming. I think later in eve, this place gets pretty busy, the vibe when we were there was laid back, no rush to leave.
What was a bit ehhhhh - Appears to be two single stall washrooms, one on each side of the counter. I used the one on the right. Washroom is for men and women. I noticed several women enter and come back immediately for napkins off the table, so I went in prepared.
No toilet paper, no towel paper. I think the paper towel holder was a partial metal plate of what was a paper towel holder at one time. Toilet itself was missing the seat. Also is a urinal in the good sized stall. This isn't a place to loiter or primp. Dirty? No? Smelly? No. Can't blame the staff but it did jar me a bit when I entered as it was a bit rough.
I was iffy on what to rate this place but the two servers and the general vibe - we will be going back. Maybe next time we'll ask re tapas and I'll update this review.
Final comment - Location, location, location plus the attentiveness of the servers made this a win. I would also be comfortable bringing or meeting guests there. read more
