This was my favorite spot that I discovered during my short stay in Málaga. It is located in a nice, bustling area quite close to a lot of central landmarks, and is unassuming in contrast to some of the overflowing adjacent restaurants. They had a great deal on offer - 3 tapas for €6! I went twice, and tried the tortilla, quiche, jamón serrano, salmonejo, empanadilla con carne, and bizcocho, all very good. What I really loved, though, was the atmosphere. It is cozy and sticks true to the name - there are shelves of books (including "traveling" books) and a variety of chairs and seating arrangements (for groups or individuals) that really made the place feel like a home. I stayed for over two hours each time I went, and it provided the perfect environment to get lost in a book while enjoying some solid food.

I don't spend much time in Plaza Merced since the tourist took over along with all the bars in this area. But I do like to have my coffee here now and again. The best coffee in the area! Not bad margaritas as well. read more
I ordered the Habanero sandwich and a zumo (juice) of zanahoria y naranja (carrot and orange). The sandwich had two yummy and large [!] pieces of toasted bread. Inside was cooked spinach, mushrooms, ginger with chicken and melted cheese. The only thing that stumped me was why it was called the "habanero" sandwich since there was no spice to be found! I asked for some salsa picante (hot sauce) and added a bit of that and it made the whole thing come together perfectly. The juice was so large, it was almost a meal by itself! The sandwich was also very very filling. Service was quick and friendly and it had a terraza right in the main plaza. Some of the seats were swing sets! Great spot for people watching. read more
This place is quirky, adorable, and has one of the best cafés bom bon I've ever had (espresso with condensed milk). I wish I would have had a book with me! It almost seems like a crime that I didn't! read more

My favorite study spot when I lived in Malaga! many comfortable places to sit, a quiet environment, and delicious juices, sandwiches, and hot drinks. Plus, if you get tired of doing your own work, there are plenty of books you can pick up to read! I still miss going here! read more

Very affordable 'you-get-what-you-pay-for'-type bar/restaurant. Service was friendly (if understandably a little bit slow during peak hour of the evening), but the waitresses were patient and helpful and the quality of the food and drinks were as one would expect for the price and no more, but also definitely not less. Usually you would have to pay more to get this mix of service and quality, hence 4/5 for value-for-money ratio. read more
artsy café-bar on the street level of an elegant 19th century townhouse that lines sunny Plaza de la Merced. sit here for hours (free wifi!) with an espresso or mojito and have a taste of andalucian tocino del cielo (custard). and as the sun sets, you might get lucky and see a street peformer dance a fandango to the tune of Malagueña. read more

Refused to accept our credit card and only wanted cash. Had to walk miles to find an ATM machine. Food was mediocre and bland. Move on. Reeks of cigarette smoke when sitting indoors. Disgusting. read more

los mejores batidos rodeado de un ambiente muy tranquilo que ayuda a olvidarse de la agetreada vida .
