I almost walked past the entrance from the street. They have a few different areas one could find a seat - every place had a covered ceiling so when it rains most every spot can be filled up. Lots of plants. I sat in the tiny room with the A/C with windows that faced the street - right behind the coffee bar. It kind of felt like I was inside a treehouse - it was nice to be there when it was raining outside. It was really peaceful I wish I had brought a book or my journal with me that day. When you walk inside through the glass doors, turn to your right and walk towards the coffee bar that looks like you're in a kitchen workspace. This is normal as this is where you will place your order. After you order, you can find your seat and it will be brought out to you. The entire space gives a semi-modernized artsy atmosphere. There is a larger space with sofa, accent chairs and tables near a bookshelf filled with different bags of coffee you could purchase as well as various coffee tools and accessories. They have more indoor/outdoor seating down the corridor you walk down when you first turn in from the street as well. Since I love espressos, I had to try the espresso tasting where they give you one small cup and one larger cup of espresso - both brewed the same way, just presented differently. Stir the smaller cup fast with the spoon and slower with the bigger cup. When you taste them, you will notice a difference as one will be more bitter and the other will have that fuller taste. I preferred the smaller cup as it had more of that dark espresso flavor. The staff are super friendly. There was someone there who helped me decide what to order and explained to me how to drink it when he had brought it out. It was also helpful that he knew a little bit of English. I wish I had came here more than just one time and I regret not buying a couple bags of coffee as the packaging is what drew me to the merch, but I was already overflowing with items in my suitcase.

It is a great place to take a brunch, the artesanal breads are super tasty and all food look like special to take a picture. If it were not for the serendipitous meeting my wife had in the US with one of the owners of this…read moreplace, we wouldn't have found it. It is reviewed in other places, and given my penchants for Yelp, I wouldn't have clued into this place, and this would have been most unfortunate. First, the culture around bread and certainly food in São Paulo is serious, and there is a "padaria" on many corners, and it is likely you are not staying anywhere near this place. This said, I will tell you now it was worth the Über we took there, and Über did find the place by name quickly which was nice, rather than having to place the address in manually. Signage is clearly marked, and similar to the color seen on the website, which is underwhelming as far as websites go. Being on the corner, it was easy to navigate a drop off and pick up safely. I am guessing you are not brave (read "louco") enough to rent a car and drive in São Paulo, although there may be parking at times within walking distance along the street if you did. Unlike many places in São Paulo, this place was designed with several small seating areas and thankfully this was one place where one could actually hear a conversation and feel relaxed rather than the normal hustle and bustle of restaurants here. You would think that because we showed up later in the day (around 3 pm) that the bread would have been baked earlier in the day, but this place makes small batches all day, and our bread to go once we were done was fresh from the oven. My wife Andréa had a "suco de tangerina" (freshly squeezed tangerine juice) and I had my afternoon "cafezinho" (a double espresso) to go with our charcuterie board of salumi, local cheese, and a country loaf with black sesame and oats and a purple sweet potato loaf, accompanied by lovely balls of cultured butter and a passion fruit marmalade. To top things off, I had been looking for a fair trade whole bean Brazilian coffee to take back home, and there it was sitting on the shelf for sale at a reasonable price. https://www.vitalecafe.com.br/. The service was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable and clearly showed both a pride in their product and a confidence in their excellence. There is no question it will be a future Über ride with others there in the future.

Their menu is extensive, serving a variety of cakes, croissants, quiches, sandwiches, finger foods, teas, coffee, alcoholic beverages, and so on. Don't get jaded by their glass display, ask for the menu and you'll be surprised! I'd ordered a mixed mille feuille, vanilla and nutella, puff pastry was crunchy and light, vanilla pastry cream was light and great, but pairing it with nutella was not a good idea, it was much sweeter than the vanilla layer, and heavy. Next time I will try just vanilla. Also ordered a French macaroon, pistachio flavor, cookie itself was overly dry, and had no chewiness to it, and its filling was dry, it's texture reminded me of a Oreo filling... Great place for a dessert place, especially after a lunch date.
