Pleasant place to hang out, with umbrellas to keep the hot sun from boiling you to death. We went for Rhubarb pie...sadly they were just out of season, as of yesterday! Bummers. We ate an Apple pie with a nut crust. Tasted good, but not as good as their Rhubarb pie, as this one was a touch too dry due to the fact that the pie is mostly crust and very little apple. However, I would still sit here and watch people and have some coffee and depending on their offerings, a pie. read more

We went here again with our school group, tho this time, more people chose individual meals rather…read morethan the Daily menu, tho 4 of our group did get the Monday choice, which was the Turkey Curry with fruit and Rice, tho again they got 2 small pieces, bite sized, of cake with icing, so rather disappointing. I ordered the Wiener sausages with German potato salad, no mayo, which was good, tho I have had better at our local butcher. However, the curry meal was delicious, and the Mint Hot chocolate, for 3.50 Euros, was more spoon eating than drinking. Small cup, more espresso sized, but wonderful taste. I enjoyed this chocolate, but this place is not my favorite place. The servers were really nice, tho they did forget one person's order, and the dessert for the daily menu. We were in the back, so kind of out of sight.

Geburtstag) drei Kuchen bei der Sonja Zuckerbäckerei in Viereth…read morebestellt: einen Obstboden, einen Number Cake (Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte) und eine Käse-Sahne-Biskuitrolle. Der Obstboden war akzeptabel, die beiden anderen Kuchen waren geschmacklich sehr schwach. Die Sahne wurde nach kurzer Zeit ungewöhnlich fest. In der Schwarzwälder waren kaum Kirschen enthalten, Kirschwasser war für mich nicht wahrnehmbar. Vorab wurde mir gesagt, dass keine Fertigmischungen verwendet werden. Der Gesamteindruck ließ bei mir jedoch Zweifel an der handwerklichen Qualität aufkommen. In einem Tortenstück wurde zudem ein Fussel gefunden. Eine Nachfrage blieb ohne Rückmeldung. Aufgrund dieser Erfahrung würde ich nicht erneut bestellen.

Das Eis, das leider nur im Sommer angeboten wird, ist super. Qualität und Originialität stimmt, denn neben den Standardeissorten wie Vanille oder Erdbeere lassen sich hier ausergewöhnliche Kreationen wie Mohn-, Lavendel-, Walnuss-Marzipan- und Schokochillieis genießen. Die Kuchen die im Sommer wie im Winter angeboten werden sind leider nicht so gut und originell wie das Eis. read more

One of the greatest Franconian biergarten. This place epitomizes the German country-living at its…read morebest! Their fried chicken (haehnchen) is one of the best around, and it's so reasonable. It's a biergarten-style restaurant, so you usually order, pay and wait for food before you sit down to eat. I think I usually spent less than 10 euro for everything I ate and drank. It's very helpful if you spoke some German, but you can manage because they are so polite, kind and accommodating--they appreciate you just trying your German. You may not be able to find this place if you didn't know where you were going. I suggest to just put the address in the GPS and go. There are plenty of seating outside if the weather is nice. I think they usually close during winter season for holidays and improvements/renovations. During the cold season when they are open, the indoor restaurant portion is open. It's like a normal restaurant then. You choose your seat and order. As a common experience, you may have to share a table with someon since it's a very popular place and gets very crowded especially on the weekend. Also, as usual cash only.

Our other friend went sweet and had a torte with ice coffee, which he enjoyed and got filled up with. The service was very pleasant, not too many people inside, and the noise level was good. They have lots of different b-fast choices, some lunch, and loads of drinks. They also had good priced ice cream sundaes. I would go again.
