Local Filipino flavour here in Cafe Quezon is at its finest. Of course, they specialise in Quezon delicacies, particularly pansit habhab and lucban longganisa. Trying the pansit habhab was good enough to come close to the pansit habhab in Lucban. They serve it in a plate and with a fork. For me, pansit habhab should be eaten without using any utensils, hence the name. The vinegar didn't match the taste of the pansit habhab which was a let down to me. The Lucban longganisa on the other hand is really, well Lucban longganisa.
To be honest, none of the two is actually my favourite here. What I like in this restaurant is that they serve vegetable kare-kare! It was surprising to know that such a small restaurant offers it because I'm not really a fan of beef. Their kare-kare, without bagoong, is rather sweet. I like how they put the vegetables since it still has a crunch on it. But, one must really try their lemon lime cake! It is tarty delicious! The tangy taste of lime is present and the zest of lemon actually helps the sweetness of it. Perfect! the cake in itself is moist as well. read more
