The Dancing Moose Cafe - Farmer's pannekoek. Similar to a western-style omelette/sandwich, but in pancake form.

Fantastic Place!! Think: Hot, steamy, crusty giant pancake!…read more 1. Don't let the word "pannekoek" distract you - when I ordered I asked for gluten free and the cook (CHEF) said he made gluten free pancakes (Pannekoek is a fancy word for more pancake than crepe) that were really good - and he was RIGHT! I had already had breakfast and I saw one of these - ordered it and took it with me. It was MAGNIFICIENT. I had it plain with powdered sugar and it was one of the best things I have ever eaten. I tore chunks of the steaming sweet dough and ate it in bite-size chunks as we drove with windows down with chilly wind wafting through. Oh, my friends got regular (not gluten free) waffles that they said were terrrific! 2. Don't let their web site photos influence you - the food is a thousand times better than the photos look! 3. Here is the reason we stopped. Our B&B gave us coupons for breakfast and we could use the coupon here or at The Clucking Hen. We wanted to check the places out so we stopped at the Dancing Moose and it was closed at the time. We peeked through the window and the cook (CHEF) saw us, unlocked the door, came out and said they were not open yet but "Do you need the ladies room? You are welcome to use it." Now, WHO is that nice these days? We didn't but we promised to come back so we did. We were the winners in that decision! 4. If you like, try this place. We had a great time and the food was wonderful! We went back and we will go back every time we go to Cabot Trail which will be frequent as we have visitors who come and want to see the Cabot Trail!

We got a picnic table with on the lawn in less than 10-minutes but we were there way before sunset. Service was friendly and efficient. Lawn seating had a beautiful and open view of the St. Lawrence Bay . Menu is super small but had a good selection of local seafood. They didn't over promise or under deliver. Bonus, our truck camper fit in front but we also saw a class B RV park in their lot.

Dommage.

As for the service, at times it was exceptional and at times poor. One employee I must single out for recognition is employee Adam Buckles. Adam is an excellent multi-tasker and was always very professional and polite. Kudos to Adam.
