It took me quite a while to decide on how many stars should I give to this cafe. 2 stars or 3…read morestars? I made my decision on 3 stars only because of the amazing view and its turning cafe! Yes the cafe turns around so while you sit down you will have 360 degree view in around 20 mins. It is a great idea! You pay 7.50 euro for entrance and you can take the fast elevator which is transparent on its roof. It was a cool ride all the way up. You dont have to go to the cafe or to the restaurant, you can also have the view from the terrace.
We sat down at the cafe to have some deserts and coffee. I must say inside the cafe looks... how to say... ugly... Many tourists and many locals come to this cafe paying the entrance, let me remind you, it is 7.50€, they could have really make it nicer inside! The second thing was the attitude of the waiters! I know waiters are not so friendly in Vienna but this is different. I don't know what they do to the waiters in that cafe but they really seemed like they hate to be there! It is not even a big cafe with many people. I understand being a waiter is a really hard job, but making others feel like you hate your job is not really nice, especially for such a touristic spot.
Other than that we had ice cream and a nice shoko mousse torte, it was quite good. The prices are little higher than usual but thats normal in such spots.
So the long story short there are many high cafes-restaurants you can go also with a great view so for me this cafe is not a place to go back just for the view. For the tourists they can also go to some fancy restaurants high up to terrace and have a drink there and have the view, that would cost less than coming here, at least you can have a nice aura with a nice view!
