Came here with my cousin during siesta when most establishments are either closed or in a supreme lull. Thankfully, El Botánico was open for business. We sat at the two big comfy chairs in the back with a pleasant view of the establishment. Decorated like a botanical garden with plants, assortment of chairs, and other aesthetics, this space could feel intimate or romantic due to the dimmed lighting, or in my case felt very comfortable. It felt like home. Some observations: the proprietor/manager seemed to take extra care lighting candles around the establishment which was lovely. She also sprayed something perfumy around the rewhile we were drinking coffee. I am sensitive to smell and found that to be unnecessary. Caution: the bathroom is freezing. It is winter currently, but surprising since the restaurant is warm. As soon as you descend the few steps to the bathroom, the temperature drops 15 degrees. The water in the bathroom is also freezing.

This is certainly a popular stop for families, groups and couples. Nearly every seat was taken. There are many tables varying in size, as well as booths. The decor near the seating area is foliage. It's much like eating in a garden patio. I ordered a little sandwich with ham and cheese. The bread is perfectly prepared and fresh! Not too hard or too soft. The ham tastes amazing! The coffee was excellent. They have a great streamlined system for lines, so although long, move quickly. The glass food enclosure is full of delicious handmade goods including cakes and breads. I don't believe you can go wrong here. They also have these chocolate shakes. Yes. Just yes.
