They're SO grumpy and rude, regardless of how polite you are. Our experience at Le Rendez Vous was the opposite of this. All of the staff was incredible: pro-active, polite, calm and helpful- it was by far our best experience at a restaurant in France. The quality of the staff was complemented by the quality of the food. Some of the best food we had while on our trip. The desserts are very generous. The environment and ambiance of the restaurant also contributed to our excellent experience. From reservation to receipt, our experience was top tier. I could not recommend more!

I ordered the filet mignon slices in a honey mustard sauce which came with a side of fried potatoes and salad plus bread. It was phenomenal and perfectly cooked - and only ~$15!! The restaurant is a bit tucked away among some other restaurants on the far side of the beautiful fountain that sits on the main street of town. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, and both I believe are smoker-friendly.

Well, I am here to help you make the right decisions in life. The beach on the other side, Plage de Bodri, is just as beautiful. In fact, they are pretty much the same. Land and rocks jutting out into the sea are all that separate this stretch of coastline. If you have a kayak, it would be easy to get around. On the off-chance you're an Olympic ocean swimmer, it should be a piece of cake! For those who play it safe, a short walk from one beach to the other is a mere 10 minutes. This is the spot you end up at for one cocktail on the beach, then end up staying at ALL DAY! It embodies what you see in the movies; the beach, the cocktail, the waves, the beautiful people, the style, and character! Yes. All of that is here. Even the bathroom has a coolness to it, you'd want to incorporate in your own beachside getaway. If you had one. At the bar, grab the massive skeleton key that looks as if it were used for to secure a dungeon somewhere way back when to unlock the bathroom. There's no dungeon here though. Enter an open air restroom where instead of flushing, you cover the TP and your gifts with wood shavings. It's pretty unique, you have to see it. Also available not too far away is a shower, which for a minimal fee can be used to was the salty water away. Furniture and structure are built to blend in with nature. All day parking is available for €2 about 150 yards from the beach. If you are staying in L'Île Rousse the coastal train stops at several beaches in the area. Grab a map at the Tourism office in town. Cocktail prices are reasonable. I believe the most expensive item was a charcuterie assortment at €12. Fair play! Staff is chill and friendly. If I am ever back in Corsica, it is a must that I return here!

We ordered Dorade which was baked and served with ratatouille and olive oil infused potatoes...mmmmmmm. We shared a pannacotta topped with strawberry confit. My husband finished the meal with what he described as a wonderful expresso. The Corsican wine, selected by the owner, beautifully complimented the dorade. PS- the walk down was much easier than the walk up. On a return to north Corsica, we would definitely come back.

The menu is small and a bit eclectic, with burgers offered alongside ceviche. The reason for my low rating is that service was horrible. It wasn't hugely busy but the waiter never checked in with me after my meal (rare for French waitstaff), and it took forever to get him to come over even after I flagged him down. Plus I asked for water and he gave me a 3 euro 8oz bottled water while he gave all the other tables tap water I know I'm a tourist but I wasn't born yesterday. If you come here be aware that the menu is entirely in French and it is smoking-friendly - those were not a problem for me but may be inconvenient for some.
