Service was fast friendly and the prices are modestly higher than normal.. you can't expect to get a view like this for free.. in most city's there's a queue and ticket booth for observatory decks. I had a chivas on the top, my favorite (8 euro, other whiskeys like jack go cheaper). The night was still young and the view was great. For everyone visiting Hasselt this is a must.. This quaint, welcoming boutique hotel has eight spacious rooms combining modern-day comfort with old-fashioned charm. These tastefully renovated units are spread over two old stone houses connected by a small but lush garden. The short walk through this pretty garden is aptly names Chemin du Bonheur. Both owners, Ann and Liesbeth, blend discreet elegance with genuine small-town warmth, and go out of their way to make guests feel at home. And, just like the owners, the young staff is very attentive to the guests' needs and, in addition, smiles a lot -- a pleasant touch that augments one's enjoyment of the place. I will have to lie but I'd guess they serve about 400 different beers, mostly all Belgian. So if you want to try out some Belgian beers or just want to get drunk, and you are in the neighborhood this is the place to go. (Delirium, Kwak, Karmeliet,.. being my personal favorite ones) On the down side, the service sometimes can be sloppy and you will have to wait longer than at most pubs. This is a wine and food bar owned by the same owners as the adjacent restaurant "de goei goesting"…read more Went here with a group on Saturday night, started with a Pinot noire (Rully Rouge - 'La Chaume' - Domaine Claudie Jobard) to accompany the finger food (lightly spiced lamb skewers), the wine was fruity and fresh but maybe a bit too light for the lamb.. I would maybe recommend it with the iberico pork mini burger they serve, although I never had that combination. Then to follow this up I chose the tenderloin and fried potatoes stacked on top of rucola lettuce. We had a bottle of blended wine (La grande clotte - lussac St-Émilion) which paired well with the beef. Sadly even though the cuisine of the beef was asked upfront, they were all served medium.. And the dishes weren't warm enough in my opinion. In the end I topped it all off with a very tasty tiramisu. Unfortunately to my disappointment I did not find any dessert wine that went by glass on the menu. Everything is served more or less bite sized, and tapas like. But that's the point.. I liked the experience and since I love wine I could live in a place like this. But, I would get bored of the food rather quickly.. Not impressed by the diversity of their menu, and also I find it is more of a commercial standpoint that only few wines are served by glass, since they do have the ability to keep bottles stored on tap. The kitchen is open and when busy it is noticeable that the staff can't keep up with the food that is being ordered.. This makes the wait long. But hey, no time is ever lost when in the good company of wine. Besides all that and more than enough on the plus to make up for it.. Good job to the owners, this is truly a good addition to the restaurant business in city of Hasselt.
