Cafe Ambr is a place I want to love. It's situated in a lovely, quieter spot in the center of Monterrey. The cafe is set up in a large old home, and they've situated lovely sitting areas with a mix of cozier seats (couches and arm chairs) and traditional restaurant style chairs and tables. The rooms have games, magazines, and books scattered throughout, inviting a long sit-down and relax. They also have a rotating artist exhibit with art for sale.
Unfortunately, the food is so-so. Their menu is decent with a good mix of coffee drinks and sandwiches, but the cappuchino I ordered was way too hot, and it didn't cool down, so I'm not sure how they heated it. It also had grains coffee, a lot of them. The turkey panini I ordered was okay. Everything seemed fresh, and it had mushrooms, but the flavor was just okay, and the bread was lacking.
I'd go here again to relax and will maybe stick to the daily brew. read more
