I tried an espresso macchiato and was promptly asked whether I favoured a more chocolaty or more fruity taste. I went for the chocolate one (Indian espresso beans) and what can I say - it was absolutely delicious! Even 30 minutes after leaving the Machhoerndl I could still feel the lingering taste in my tongue. Not too bitter, but really intense and full-bodied. Perfect! I might have chuckled at the hipster guys behind the counter at first but I have to admit they know what they are doing! The coffee roast factory is situated in Gostenhof (hipsters apparently call it GoHo now...) but thankfully you can also get the coffee in the city centre now. BTW, you can only get sugar if you ask for it - they want you to taste the coffee as such first - this is a kind of public education that I wholeheartedly support! Bottom line: * very hipsteresque and made me chuckle first... * ...but the chuckle got stuck in the throat when I tried the coffee * ...this could very well be the best coffee in town at the moment!

To be honest - the US style breakfast they are offering here is not bad - but far from completely authentic. The pancakes are missing the salted butter and they are covered with powdered sugar. Hence - Maple Sirup is served with the dish. So - ok from the first view. Anyhow. If you order the American Breakfast - you will not be disappointed. Eggs, crispy Bacon, a fresh roll, Jam/Marmalade, Butter, fresh pancakes and Maple Sirup plus a glass of Orange Juice - served with a smile by a friendly waitress..... everything is ok. Prices are reasonable but not cheap. Coffee is from Austrian Coffee Provider "Meinl" - good Quality too. I´m pursued. I will come here again - hopefully soon! ..... ;-)

Also amazing was the latte macchiato -- one of the best I've had in Bavaria so far. The atmosphere is also great -- comfy and cozy with nice art all around -- and the waitstaff are very helpful. I look forward to trying Mireo again for lunch or dinner.
