Every aspect of the cappuccino was great! The interior is all mainly hand made as I saw them literally build the place up from the ground. The café has a real homey feel to it, the owners seem to work there everyday and remember me from my previous visits. Kaffe Horna has multiple pastries also available, the same kind I've seen and had at Ikea, so of course they are delicious. The coffee is a bit on the pricer side but it is some sort of special coffee blend according to the multiple awards, so I'll say it's justifiable. All in all it's a great place to take a short break or pick up that morning coffee on your way to work!

The coffee here is quite mild (but tasty), but the place itself is wonderfully situated and has a great little minimalistic vibe to it. It's situated in the Weißgerbergasse (one of Nurembergs lovely little side alleys) and sitting outside is highly recommended - you'll never know what kind of weird stuff you'll see (The last time I was here, I watched a drunk guy vent his fury on a signpost for 30 minutes... lovely!)!

I tried an espresso macchiato and was promptly asked whether I favoured a more chocolaty or more fruity taste. I went for the chocolate one (Indian espresso beans) and what can I say - it was absolutely delicious! Even 30 minutes after leaving the Machhoerndl I could still feel the lingering taste in my tongue. Not too bitter, but really intense and full-bodied. Perfect! I might have chuckled at the hipster guys behind the counter at first but I have to admit they know what they are doing! The coffee roast factory is situated in Gostenhof (hipsters apparently call it GoHo now...) but thankfully you can also get the coffee in the city centre now. BTW, you can only get sugar if you ask for it - they want you to taste the coffee as such first - this is a kind of public education that I wholeheartedly support! Bottom line: * very hipsteresque and made me chuckle first... * ...but the chuckle got stuck in the throat when I tried the coffee * ...this could very well be the best coffee in town at the moment!

They had great beer and some light snacks. They also had a restroom available to customers. I got the red beer and the cherry pie. Both were quite good. There were some buskers there putting on a fire street show while we where there which was fun. You go up to the counter and order your beer/snacks/soda there and then take it to your table - no waitstaff! So make sure you find your own table and clean up after yourself! They also do a pfand for the glasses, so your beer costs and extra euro or two and then when you return the mug you get it back. That is good incentive to clean up after yourself! The girls working were very patient with my language barrier and helpful with tea choices. Although there's not much seating, we were able to squeeze into a corner. There were many books stored in spaces and coins hidden in the ceiling. Such a charming little gem with great coffee!
