The idea of a smoking room is fantastic, but sadly, like every other smoking room in Helsinki, it is always overused and poorly ventilated. Basically you just walk in there, stand for about two minutes, and walk out. You never even have to light up, you will get so much nicotine in your system you're guaranteed to get a headache almost instantly. Not picking on the Dubliner....all those smoking rooms are like that. Food here is not that great... all frozen stuff that you should avoid unless you're desperate. The bar area is overcrowded with stuff, so it was not particularly appealing to even bother looking at the beer selection. Bartender was nice, and I like the idea of having coffee available for 2€ with refills, self service. Yet another thing I wish we had in NYC but would get abused. Also, great location to sit outside on a sunny Saturday and watch the park, etc.

I don't really drink beer so I can't say anything about that, but none of my beer drinking friends have had any complaints. However, oh my god, whatever you do, DO NOT drink the tap wine! It tastes like windshield washer fluid and will effectively harm your will to live. And do not be fooled by the bar woman's assurance that it's a "light Italian white whine that's perfect for socializing" because that it is not, unless you want to socialize with self-harm. But, stay away from the tap wine and you'll be totally alright here.

This is a spot I would traipse upon after being quite inebriated & calling it a night or going to before starting my night out. They did play good music though. The ambiance is amazing! The front room (which has some amazing stained glass windows) feels like a formal study where one might sit and read a book or newspaper. There are nice comfy chairs all around with a few small tables. The back room feels more like an intimate lounge. There is seating available at the bar and then there are several booths (mostly for 2 people). This area would be great for those on a date looking for a little quiet time together. There is a well stocked bar in the front room that Throughout Blings there is some great recorded music playing in the background. While I was there I heard everything from Earth, Wind and Fire to Satana (Black Magic Woman). The music is loud enough to be heard but soft enough to hear yourself think (or participate in a conversation with another person or 2). Another great feature of Blings is that it's connected to the Radisson Blu Plaza hotel. This was perfect for me as it meant a short walk 'home' without going outside into the elements. I thoroughly enjoy my time in Blings and will continue to visit whenever I'm in Helsinki.
