They have inside and outdoor seating. If you sit outside there are heaters and lap blankets. Chose indoor seats during Sunday breakfast/brunch. There is a popular buffet that we will try next time. Terrible Service & Meat served as Vegetarian I am beyond disgusted with my experience at Cafe Extrablatt Kaiserslautern (Marktstraße 26, 67655 Kaiserslautern). I have been a dedicated vegetarian for years, and tonight, this restaurant completely violated that. This happened around 6pm-8pm on March 2nd 2026. I ordered a vegetarian burger, but they served me a meat burger instead. Because it was loaded with toppings and sauce, I didn't realize the mistake until I was almost finished. When I brought this to their attention, the service went from bad to predatory. The waiter, Shahem, was incredibly rude. Instead of an apology for the kitchen's massive error, I was met with hostility. Apparently, the Manager (who didn't even have the courage to come speak to me directly) told Shahem to suggest that I "knew it was meat all along" and was just making a fuss to get money. To be accused of lying to get a free meal after being forced to break a years-long vegetarian streak is the height of disrespect. It is disturbing and disgusting that management would rather gaslight a customer than take responsibility for a kitchen error. They "allowed" me not to pay for the burger as if they were doing me a favor, but forced me to pay for everything else with zero redemption or apology for the distress caused. They didn't just mess up an order; they ruined my dietary streak and then insulted my integrity. Moreover I was not given any receipt nor asked if I want one which is clearly a violation. I only realized after I left. However I do have bank confirmation from my card payment and picture of the food taken at the restaurant before I knew I was served meat. Avoid this place if you have any dietary restrictions, allergies, or if you simply value being treated with basic human decency. They clearly have no standards for food safety or customer service. read more

The food was good. I ordered an Avocado Burger with fries and a cafe latte with caramel. The burger was much bigger than I expected; I enjoyed it though. The avocado was sliced, so it kept sliding off the burger....I'll mash it next time. The table was small. There were 3 seats, but the table was cluttered with plates with 2 people. Also, when you walk in you seat yourself, which is fine but there is no sign or waiter/waitress that tells you that. Sooooo I was standing by the entrance for about 5 mins until I caught on. Best schnitzel in Centrum! Literally any time of day you go here you'll enjoy the menu. Breakfast is legit, coffee and cake hour perfect, and full menu options are all excellent. Service is quick and upper scale compared to other walkable options. The indoor seating is beautiful and well made for group conversations. Oh, and don't forget the dessert/ice cream menu! read more

This is just an amazing restaurant / cafe. A perfect place to spend the afternoon, so if you are American get ready to sit still and enjoy your time. This restaurant is not about speed but quality. The price is right for the amount of food you get. In US dollars, I spent about $19 for an amazing burger with french cheese, 2 large slices of bacon, a crispy hash brown patty on top, and it came with a side order of Cajun French Fries. And of course I had to pay for two bottles of water. Now that's not a bad deal for the amount of food you get. The burger was very large and flavorful. This was not some showoff burger but a delicious one. I highly recommend cutting it in half before you dislocate your jaw trying to take a first bite. The bun was soft and didn't over shadow the burger. I have never had a hashbrown in my burger before but it was an interesting experience and I would do it again...I would just have to make sure I come on an empty stomach. This is a must try burger, if only I can remember the name of it. The good part is you can see my image of it and show it to your waiter or waitress. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing and classy. It feels upscale but relaxed enough to bring a child or two. I went on a Sunday with some friends, during their brunch buffet which looked simple, light, and clean. It came with your basic American type breakfast items like scrambled eggs and bacon, but they also had some fancy items like mozzarella with sliced tomatoes assorted cheeses and bread. I didn't have the buffet because I arrived as it was ending but they had a lot of items on the brunch bar. As I mentioned in the beginning this place is not about speed, so if you want your food in a hurry I would look somewhere else. This is a perfect place to spend your Sunday morning, afternoon, or have a dinner date. You can eat at the bar, a table top, tall tables with stools near the bar, or along the walls in booths which look like comfortable couches. The service was friendly and relaxed and our waitress spoke english clearly, which made ordering food simple because she also brought us an english menu. So this place gets a five star from me because of the five star service and food you receive. You can't go wrong with this place if you're in K-town and you want to have a relaxing time with some friends or by yourself. read more

One of our first places we ventured out to in the downtown area on our own since moving here and really enjoyed the atmospher and service we had here. I had a spiced hot carmel drink that was enough for me to come back here next time it cools off just for that drink!! For a chain restaurant, it always seems to have a decent atmosphere - kind of a hipster theme they have going on, but cool still. Service is okay. If it's a busy night, it might take a little while to get the server's attention. Always seems like they're understaffed. Food is great. Nothing like opening yourself to new experiences. Full bar in case you're not enjoying the food or are on a hell date and need a little motivation to make it through the night. I guess last time I was here, they were more attentive. Well this time, it was horrible. We sat inside, and immediately I was turned off by loud music, lots of lights, and people screaming to talk (their music was super loud). The waitress wasn't really available, and the one who took our orders decided to bring me a small glass of beer instead of a large one (usually they ask me if I want a large one or a small one, and this time she didn't, so I ordered a large one when I ordered it.) The chicken fingers were alright, though it look like it was refried. Lasagna was horrible. She also did not ask what kind of sauce I wanted, instead brought me the one that apparently she thought I would like. Horrible! What I don't care for about this place is that this place does not have its own identity. I am not sure if this place is a cafe, a bar, a sports bar, a bar and grill, or a restaurant. They are all mixed in together and became this chaotic mess that somehow attracts military crowds and German ladies that like American boys. The music they are playing was way too loud, that I couldn't hear my boyfriend talking in front of me. They were playing some kind of techno, making me feel like I was in LoDo, Denver. I'm not saying they should be playing Bach. No not at all. But at least turn down the volume a but. Being from the states, this place really appealed to me and my friends. The menu was very simple and similar to that of an average location back home. They had italian, burgers, wraps, salads, and more. Simply a place where you can get almost anything no matter what kind of meal you were craving. We were seated outside rather quickly and were attended to pretty fast as well. I orderd the fajita wrap and thought it was very good. I ordered the sweet potato fries on the side and they were delicous. Friends of mine enjoyed their personal pizzas and the prices here were reasonable. It took a little long for the check to come out at the end and that is pretty much more only complaint. I know restuarants are normally slower around here because that is simply the enviroment, but it seemed to be dragging and I just wanted to leave once my meal and beer were finished. Had a large group with us and we had a good time relazxing and hanging outside in the middle of downtown. Good place to stop on in for a good meal with people looking for all types of food. You'll find something on the menu for anyone! Be sure to try the Milkshakes! Two of my friends had a craving they couldn't control and ordered them for dessert. Had lunch here with my girlfriend today. It was bad. Not good. But not bad. I have the polloburger, which was a grilled chicken burger. The chicken was too thin so it was overcooked and hard to bite through and chew. We had beers, kristalweisens, there were warm, which for an American, isn't too much fun for us. They did have English menus which was nice and the waitstaff was nice and spoke good english. We still haven't found a German resturant that understands what an appetizer is. We askd if we could get an order of fries as an app before our food came out. Server said yes yes sure sure, and of course they came out with out main meal.
