Good prices for the scoops! Just 1 Euro per good sized scoop on a sugar cone (here they call them…read morewaffle cones), and the flavors are interesting. I had the dark chocolate and Coffee, and my spouse had the Raspberry and Lemon, which he rated as very good. Pleasant plaza to sit in. They have Banana Splits and other sundaes, which were priced similarly to those in Bamberg and Wurzburg. All in all, we will be back again after future hikes! The prices for ice cream scoops is amazingly cheap here, and when one goes into a Gelato place, something that in the States cost an arm and a leg, here they cost 1 -1.20 Euro per scoop. I never patronize the Gelato shops at home b/c they are so ridiculously priced, but here you get the same thing for a lot less! Ok, more hikes, more ice cream! Twice I had the After 8 Mint Sundae, 3 scoops of ice cream and mint and chocolate sauce, yummy! for 6.50 Euros, and my spouse had the Strawberries with freshly made waffle and vanilla ice cream one day, and the sour cherry one the next. He thot the vanilla ice cream was really good, and the waffle delicious, as did I from the taste I got. The waiter was quick, pleasant, remembered our faces, and got our orders quickly to us. Delicious ice cream and waffles! Go for the service, flavors and taste, and stay for the relaxation. Last hike for this area, last visit here. Ordered a banana split and since I don't like Sahne, whip cream, tho here they make the real stuff not out of a spray can, they gave me an extra scoop of ice cream, as they have for my spouse both times he ordered. My spouse had their Apple Strudel, which he very much liked, with two scoops of delicious vanilla ice cream. This is a great place to eat after a hike. They also have pizza for lunch and dinner, which smelled really good, as well as some sandwiches.

One of sixteen locations found in the area, humble beginnings followed by expansion after World War Two bearing similarities to the back-story of Frankfurt's Eifler and Huck, it is inside a comfortably large space that diners will found tables and chairs spread forward from the counter, employees not fluent in English nonetheless friendly and even apologetic that they had already sold out of Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte. Offering an array of less commonly seen Cakes, though a Nougatbrezel better than that of Merzenich as well as springy Quarkbällchen also deserve a look, it was with three slices in hand that a table was found, the Kleine Käse- Sahnetorte something like Bienenstich Kuchen without Honey and Almonds and Himbeerkuchen using the same Vanilla sponge but piling Raspberries suspended in Gelatin on top. Not trying to be too full before dinner at Schwarzwaldstube, but also incapable of bypassing Rhubarb, final bites at Ziegler's Backstube once again attested to the benefits of makes and baking everything on-site as tangy stalks snapped amidst sweetened Custard on a bed of buttery Almond Cake.
