My experience in dealing with Geico has been an absolute nightmare! I didn't even have car insurance. I paid for insurance f or my son's car. the very next day this policy was canceled due to the car that had been purchased hadn't been able to pass the inspection. I was assured that the money would be refunded to my card in 5-7 business days. The policy was canceled on the 15 which means the latest the refund was supposed to be place back on my card was the 22 of October. They were contacted again and was told at that time it would be there by Thursday the 24th. Still no refund. contacted them AGAIN on Friday and was told it would be clear and hit the card by the 29th. 29th STILL no refund. Now with bills overdue I'm extremely irate to say the least. We call and one one rep which informs us the money wasn't able to be put back on either card. (there was only one card they were ever given and they confirmed the name on the card which was my name. So they took it upon themselves to mail a check and the check would be in the policy holders name. They knew the proper name, had the right number but said they had mailed it out already. I informed her that this was a horrible business practice as no one even made an attempt to contact either one of us. We called AGAIN about 20 minutes later spoke to a different rep and the Manager and we were told that there wasn't anything in the system that said there was a check being mailed out. It had been processed and should hit the card that night or the next day. Today guess what still no refund. We call and were told that the check was indeed mailed out and it was handled by the refund dept and they had already sent the check out and it will be another 5-7 business days we will have to wait. When he asked to speak to the supervisor it took a few minutes and the poor rep was hesitant and I already knew what was coming next. he states Hello my name is Mike and suddenly there is a buzzing sound and we are disconnected! No point to calling back a 5 year old would would know the old run around when they experience it. This is a horrible experience that has gone on far longer than it should have an reeks of unprofessionalism. My advice if you must deal with them deal in cash and then make sure they will be returning cash to you. If It were possible I would give them -2 zeros!! A simple courtesy call and proper notation in the system could have avoided all of this drama. Extremely unsatisfied and will continue to let as many know of this experience! !! read more
