For my money, Maredo could be better average. Steaks were cooked to the right temperatures, even after we performed the linguistic gymnastics to accurately described what we wanted. Where Maredo disappoints is seasoning heir meat. I couldn't even detect as much as a pinch of kosher salt nor a single grinder twist of pepper. Just nothing to make the meat "pop". The other let down for me was dessert. I had been in Germany for two weeks and this was my last dinner before coming home. This was the first time I saw apple strudel on a menu so decided to go for it. What I received was something soggy and doughy that tasted and felt like it was fresh out of a microwave. Two bites and I was done, left the rest on the plate. If the chef decides to make a stop in the spices aisle of the local market and pick up some basis spices and they manage to get some fresh strudel, I could see the stars just flowing in.
