I see Emily Toutoukian for monitoring of my Chronic Myeloid…read moreLeukemia (CML). I really like Dr. Toutoukian's friendly, calm and caring demeanor. She answers my questions and addresses my concerns. The treatment plan Dr. Toutoukian uses is based on my long term individual response to the oral chemotherapy drug I have been taking. She does not lump me into a group based on my current response alone. In short, she personalizes the care and monitoring that I receive. The staff members from the front desk, techs and assistants are always professional and friendly.

My wife would back me up with that statement, but every once in a while. you'll find something great Coastal Cancer Center radiology. #1 This is one happy patient and for all of the smiley girls in the treatment room who convinced me to grow my hair long in order to become Fabio Thank you

Good doctor but staff leaves a lot to be desired. Note to staff - please be clear when you are…read moremaking an appt for a patient and it's with a nurse and not the doctor. Patient should know what to expect at an appointment and who they are seeing. And, most importantly, CLEARLY COMMUNICATE with patient as to what are next steps during the appointment. Don't take a patient (a cancer patient, no less) and sit them in the Treatment Room with no explanation as this causes unnecessary stress to the patient - is the patient to expect a treatment or therapy that the doctor didn't discuss with them previously? am I in the wrong place? what type of treatment are they giving me? ONLY TO FIND THAT THEY HAD AN APPT WITH THE NURSE, UNBEKNOWNST TO THEM, AND WERE SIMPLY SAT IN THE "TREATMENT ROOM" to wait for a nurse to read them their lab results. Additionally, the staff is terrible at submitting prescription dosing instructions - thankfully, the CVS pharmacists are incredibly wonderful and called the office 3x trying to sort out and clarify the instructions. Do better and be more professional. And, note, to all local doctors and staff - ALWAYS INTRODUCE YOURSELF - "I'm Nurse/Doctor/Medical Assistant xxxxxx" so that way we know who you are and how you will be assisting us during our appointment. This is not only a simple courtesy but a professional practice that should be used.
