Brenden Kurtz, the owner of Celina Concrete, Celina Texas, left us in a terrible and very costly…read moremess.. and we're not the first. After researching him further than we had originally, we found he plays the game of give him your money, doesn't finish job and then vanishes in to thin air. He's been brought to court for this changes the company name and starts again. He even moved around the country, to Illinois and guess who strikes again with complaints and a company name that is now closed-wash-rinse-repeat. We're all for the little guy and we wanted to give our community small biz owner the business. I don't want to ruin anyone's life but he does not care what he does to people. Posting to warn everyone who reads this-STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAN AND ANYTHING HE DOES FOR WORK. He is a liar, a robber and if you ever read this Brenden... you should be ashamed of yourself. What a terrible model for your children;. YOU TRULY SUCK is the nicest way I can put it here. It's been disastrous. Wood on patio cover back wall all falling off, concrete coating cracks all over and he never, ever returned our call after the last day he was here and the work was not done.

BUYER BEWARE I'm…read moresharing in order to hopefully save another person losing out on money as well as their backyard. We started a project with Brendan Kurtz who is the owner of the local company Celina Concrete (now known as Chicago Decorative Flatwork) in Sept 2021. We agreed upon concrete patio extension with overlay as well as side yard work. It is now February 2022 and we are still left with a mess and out thousands of dollars. Brendan and his crew failed to get the overlay and new concrete to match multiple times over the course of 3 months. We were patient and understanding as he continued to move on to other projects and would stop by when he had a lull in schedule - all while asking for final payment multiple times. (Mind you, by this point we had already made 3 payments to him). By December, he even sang a sad song about how he would have to close his business after he completed our project and another. Brendan hired an outside company to come sandblast our patio in order to start fresh again with the staining and sealing. This is the last we have heard or seen of him. We are now left with an unfinished patio with ruined overlay, ruined sod that he claimed he would replace, and stuck trying to find another company that can fix his mess. Instead of "closing his business", Brendan has now changed his company's name to Chicago Decorative Flatwork and continues to post new projects. He has also failed to respond to our report with the Better Business Bureau. We have given him plenty of time to do right by us, but alas - he is choosing to look the other way. I hope this post helps someone steer clear of a company who has caused us so many issues.

RC Landscape

Rogelio and his team are highly skilled and knowledgeable landscapers. They will consult with you…read moreand provide guidance on plants to use that are low maintenance as well as seasonal. They work fast and are very professional. I highly recommend this company. You will not be disappointed.

Unfortunately, my experience with RC Landscaping was deeply disappointing…read more I initially hired them to help with a landscaping project. The contractor came out, marked up my lawn, sprayed grass killer, and began preparing the area. Shortly afterward, another contractor happened to stop by and offered a quote. Out of fairness, I wanted to validate pricing not to haggle, just to understand. Instead of having a professional conversation, RC Landscaping took offense and walked off the job entirely. What's worse is that he had already sprayed my yard, leaving me with dead, unsightly grass and no plan to repair or finish the work. Now I'm left scrambling to fix damage I didn't ask for just because I wanted to make an informed decision. The photo attached shows the current state of my lawn. It's clear, marked, and dead. This wasn't how I expected the relationship to end. If you're considering RC Landscaping, beware: if you seek clarity on price, they might just leave you mid-project. RESPONSE : I initially contacted RC Landscaping to help design flower beds for my front yard. We discussed expectations, and he even came out to mark the yard and spray it to prep for install. While I hadn't delivered the materials yet, I was planning to, and we had a start date set. Things changed when I asked a simple question about pricing. Another contractor had stopped by with a lower estimate, and I wanted to understand the difference--especially since only one bed was multi-layered and the rest were basic. I wasn't trying to cancel the job; just asking for clarity. Instead of a conversation, the contractor called off the job entirely, citing a lack of trust. I was left with patches of dead grass and no work done. I also asked to keep the drawing for reference (since I now have to start over), but was told no. The owner claims I was difficult or indecisive--but I have screenshots that show I was respectful and collaborative throughout. I never changed the job scope drastically--I asked thoughtful questions as part of normal planning. In the end, I can't recommend this business based on how the situation was handled. A simple follow-up led to the project being abandoned, and now I'm left cleaning up and restarting. Attaching screenshots from our actual conversation to provide context. I believe they show I was clear, respectful, and simply trying to understand pricing and next steps.
