Such a wonderful experience. Drove almost 4 and a half hours to get these little guys and to be greeted with great customer service by Jeremy made the trip so worth it. Asked us right away if we needed any help and if were looking for anything particular, and pointed us in the right direction. Gave us time to look at the ferrets, didn't linger and came back to check on us. Giving us plenty of time to decide which two to get as well as schooling us on the facts of being Ferret owners. Told us all the Do's and don't with care. Set up our cage for the road which was super sweet. Never had that at any other pet store!! The place is pretty small but they really pack it in and there's a decent selection. Would definitely recommend going to this place rather than a big chain pet store. Came back here recently since there is no where local (Bullhead/Ft Mohave/Needles area) to buy bunnies and ferrets. Found out here that they don't get along, so roomie and I have to duke it out to see which one we will actually purchase. The lady (owner) spent a lot of time with us, both showing and letting us pet the ferrets and bunnies. (Which by the way didn't help in either direction, because we now want BOTH even more than before). They have some baby bunnies that should be up for adoption at the end of the month. So cute! The also sell cages here and "cage starter kits" which include food, toys, litter, etc. They try to litter train the ferrets & the bunnies here, but we were told both can still be a bit messy. The lady here was very sweet, informational, and patient with us. Hope to be back soon for our new furry friend! read more

They used to be a good place, I've been going there for 10 plus years now and they have went down hill extremely bad I went there September of last year and as I walked in it smelt so damn bad, the cages for the mice and rats were so damn disgusting those furry baby's were just living in layers of there own pee and poop, there were so many in one cage I seen at least 20 to 30 mice in one 10 gallon cage and up to 30 to 40 rats in one 40 gallon cage there dead body's in those cages and I've been there for a while by the smell and they breeders were all in these tiny little tubs up to 5 pregnant females in one of these tubs and there eating there young because of the stressful situation there in the chicks they had were in these shelves that were hot as hell they were all panting way to much there was no warm and cold system for them at all, I've raised rats and mice for almost 18 years and my girlfriend as raised chickens for 6 years and seeing all of that broke our hearts that same mouth I bought 6 rats and 4 mice one rat died 2 weeks later (it was no older then 4 mouths) from bad health and the three mice died from the same stuff 6 mouth before that I bought 3 rats and 3 mice all the mice died in 3 mouths and one of the rats died in 2 mouths all from them not taking Carr of them like they need to I used to go to this place to get rats and mice all the time and supplies for them but now o don't think I'll be going back they need to get back to where they were and take Care of those poor baby's the right way i wouldn't go there to get rats or mice unless you want them to died in less then 6 mouths even tho most of them are not even a year old!! read more

Are we even going to pretend what this "business" does is okay? Ferrets are a complicated pet and these people are making a joke out of adding one to your family. Tiny wire cage? Kaytee pet food? And I witnessed the woman biting a ferret on the ear until it screamed, her justification being that's how you train them not to bite. Actually if you do all the above you won't have to worry about biting because they'll be dead before the year is out. I'm shocked they're still open and people still buy from them. Do not give them your money or believe their lies!! Ferrets are meat eaters but most imprint on a kibble so you need a high protein option. NO fruit veggies or nuts. Sham on these people!! read more

Ferrets , ferrets, ferrets.....they also have rabbits and birds but we are all here for the ferrets...duh. The people were helpful and friendly but the store could use a good cleaning. ** as stated in another review, they did tell me to bite the ferret if he bites me and then she showed me how as he squealed. They also have horse / burro / donkey treats if you are heading up to Oatman. read more

I can't say enough about C & D Feeds! Ricky and Jeremy were friendly from the start, and knowledgeable to a fault. My Husband and I could have stayed for hours, talking with them. We learned so much that we had never even considered. The cost of food, and other supplies, was more than reasonable, compared to large box stores, and of better quality. I've read multiple reviews regarding the cleanliness of the shop. Anyone who visits a real feed store will recognize it for what it is. We have zero complaints about the upkeep. I purchased and paid for a ferret kit yesterday only to have the grandson snitch to the old man that I didn't want to feed the nutritionally poor KAYTEE food (I feed my ferrets a carnivore specific diet) nor inject the kit with a DOG vaccination (the proper Merial Fervac is back on the market and available where I live). the birthdates of the ferrets were UNKNOWN, the breeder of the ferrets was UNKNOWN ("I just pick them up at the airport was the answer to the question) and there was ZERO paperwork available for them, including supposed previous vaccinations. one of the kits that was sold had no hair on its tail, the older kit had feces caked on its hind end and the kits the old man had at the house had feces caked around their anus' (a good indicator of diarrhea, maybe that poor diet perhaps). the 3 ferret kits in the shop and the 2 kits the old man had at his home were the same age according to the grandson, however their size difference was quite contradictory. the old mans property "the ferret farm" is a hoarded mess of junk piled up everywhere except for the beaten path between the dilapidated houses. the peacocks and poultry live amongst squalor. the flies were immeasurable in number. my mother had to wait in the car, it was too much for her. the old man held baby ferrets in one hand, with a cigarette in the other, and they were reacting to the smoke while the old man spouted off how I don't know how to care for ferrets properly. chatting with him, he demonstrated ZERO animal husbandry knowledge. he couldn't tell me the protein content of the Kaytee food he so adamantly endorses, nor had he heard of what I feed. he spews off how feeding the wrong food causes cancer, yet doesn't know ferrets are carnivores that should not be fed carbs, fruit, veggies, grains etc, which his Kaytee food is laden with. he frowned on the fact that my ferrets have free access in and out of their cage into their X-pen (ferrets should not be always caged as he thinks). he thinks I am a poor ferret owner, yet he pulled 2 kits from his hoarded house, and sold me one of them. fast forward 30 minutes and ferret is purchased and paid for. later in the afternoon when I arrive to pick him up, the old man is sitting in his junkyard with his wife, and starts insulting me. the man with no sense living amongst junk thinks an experienced ferret owner isn't good enough to buy from him. pot meet kettle. another trip to the store for a refund. I suspect that ferret was sold to someone else who was dumb enough to buy the "package" they sell, which includes a tiny wire cage, that "nutritionally complete" Kaytee ferret food and those DOG distemper vaccinations. a couple from CA was there looking at them when I was at the store to pay for mine. this establishment is a joke, and this family's gene pool needs a filter. read more

I'll keep it relatively simple, as some of the other reviewers have otherwise highlighted some of the details about the place. Their stock of ferrets come from, seemingly, better genetics than Marshall farms. However their advice on ferret care and such isn't necessarily the best or most effective way of raising and caring for them. If you get the whole "ferret kit," the food they provide is definitely not recommended to keep them on. Also the kits all appear to have been switched to dry or hard food a bit early, as many had prolapsed rectums. So they've got decent stock and such, but take any care advice they give with a grain of salt. I'm not really keen on the notion of having an every day person perform vaccines on their new pet, either. Oh, and our ferret kit had a yeast infection in his ears, when we got him. :/ read more

I went into C&D feed to ask advice on cat food for an older cat with a very sensitive stomach. My cat wasn't able to keep food in/down at all. They told me what to feed her to calm her stomach and then gave me some free samples to see if they worked. The advice worked wonders to settle her tummy and the food samples worked as well!!I returned and bought a full size bag of the all natural food they had given me samples of. I am now a repeat customer!! I am a VERY happy customer!!! They have helped me prolong her life a little longer and for that I have forever grateful! She is gaining weight, her fur is looking healthy and shiney again, and her energy level is returning back to a higher level! She is no longer vomiting and having "accidents" either!! Absolutely horrible place to by animal's! I paid $30 for a bunny and it died within 24 hrs of having him home. My 3 yr old found the bunny and this owner said it was my fault the bunny died. She did nothing to try to rectify the situation but blame me and my son. read more

This place is absolutely awful. They know nothing about ferrets. They claim they are very knowledgeable about them. Everything they will tell you is false. They claimed to have sold me an 8 week old ferret who was actually only 4 or 5 weeks old. Because I just took him to the vet and hey told me he's barely 8 weeks NOW three weeks after getting him. They tell you to hold them down and bite them if they bit you. Which causes them to be fearful of you and being held when in fact you are supposed to use a toy after scruffing them. Additionally they talked me out of getting a second ferret saying that he'll only bond with his litter mate and they will both hate me and always bite me. Not to mention the disgusting filth of the store. Their out side animals cage and water were also disgusting. These people need to be shut down. read more
