Extremely uncomfortable session with Jaclin Gerstel-Friedman. My grandmother recently passed away…read moreand I was dealing with the grief as well as the trauma of the way she passed. Not to mention my whole life was being uprooted and was looking for some guidance and encouragement. Jaclin Gerstel-Friedman introduced herself and began discussing the billing process and cancelation fee. She then fell silent, did not ask me about myself or why I was seeking therapy. I began speaking independently about why I was seeing a therapist and some of the more traumatic things that have occurred recently without any prompt or questions from the psychologist. Again, no response or even acknowledgement from her after mentioning some of the things that were going on in my life. I felt extremely uncomfortable talking with someone who was not responding to me. I stopped my part of the discussion to see if she would eventually reply.. nothing. Which left the room completely silent and uncomfortable for myself. I was waiting for a reply or at least a nonverbal indication that she was listening to my words. She continued to stare at me without responding. I became silent. She then replied to me saying "I feel like you are in a different space right now, where is your head at?". Which made me more uncomfortable because I just expressed myself as best as I could and got no response for more than 5 minutes. After the first session I left feeling upset because I did not get anything from the session but I decided to give it a second try. The second session began with her greeting me at the door, upon sitting down she fell silent again. Expecting me to just begin expressing myself without any prompting/questioning. So, I did the best I could and told her more about what was going on. Again, no response. Finally she asked a few questions about how these things made me feel etc. Once I responded to her questions the room fell quiet and I did not receive a response. I left again feeling defeated and feeling like my feelings could not be validated or that my grief was abnormal. There were no responses, head nods, nonverbal cues to show that she was listening or acknowledging the emotions being expressed. Now, this could have been her approach or it could have been the way that she works with clients. Which is understandable to a degree, HOWEVER you should be able to tell if a client is visually uncomfortable in the 45 minutes of silence or uncomfortable not getting a response from the psychologist. Not to mention the fact that I spent money to sit in a room in silence and be stared at.

A negligent company that ignores their clients in a crisis. More attention goes to the receptionist…read morewho brings her child to work rather than someone struggling. Very very very disgusted about the "talk therapy " and psychiatric care that I "received" there all to be medically Abandoned by my therapist (after 2.5 years) during an extremely hard time in my life. Before seeking care in another state, I was enrolled in PHP and inpatient. During PHP MY insurance cleared me to see my Op however she refused , claiming i need higher level of care while she knew i was being pushed aside at PHP. Psychiatrist (Nicole) was very negligent and lacked responses on multiple occasions- nevermind my electronic chart was not updated regarding medications I was actually taking. "Dr T" prescribed me a medication without having my blood tested, even though that's the "typical practice" and my former OP tried discharging me through my hospital social worker while I was in inpatient (after returning zero calls to my inpatient team throughout the week) instead of talking to me directly. When I was heart broken by this, my mother tried intervening by calling the office to see what is happening. My mother was ignored as well. Go somewhere else. This place causes pain on top of pain then makes you wonder why you can't get help

Went for marriage counseling, plus my wife was seeing another individual counselor here. At a…read moreone-on-one session with our couple's counselor, counselor told me something rather crucial about his belief about my wife's mental health, but later denied to my wife that he said it. In her mind, why would our counselor lie? So I must be the liar. I confronted this counselor about it over the phone. He refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing and accused her and I of triangulating, making him the victim! I tried to arrange a meeting with my wife, our counselor, and his supervisor in order to discuss what was going on. The meeting was tentative until I could be sure my wife would come to it (it would have been pointless to have it without her, as I was attempting to both hold him accountable and show her that I was not the liar here). I never got my wife to agree, so date was never finalized. However, I got a letter stating that I had missed the appointment. Then I found out that my wife was told by her other counselor that I didn't show up to this meeting and that she was never supposed to be part of that meeting. Her counselor may have got bad info, but she never should have been involved in the first place. So when my spouse was already having trust issues, this place sure supported and reinforced that for her! I can't get her away from there as she's still seeing a counselor there, although a different one. And I'm watching them continue to destroy our marriage as they reinforce all of her negative feelings, whether they are based in the reality of things or not. I went there for help, but this place is toxic.
