I hired C&C Jimenez Remodeling to paint and replace all the flooring in my rental property in Nov. and Dec. They received full payment on completion. When tenants moved in they identified an issue with water under the floorboards in the hall bathroom. Careful inspection confirmed that the source of the water was an inadequate reinstallation of the toilet following the placement of new flooring. I suspect that a new wax ring was not used or properly installed. It is industry standard to replace a wax toilet ring/seal each time a toilet is moved and replaced.
While at the property that same day, Feb. 14, 2022, I called my contact at C&C Jimenez Remodeling. I explained the situation to Manny who told me he was in Florida but would ask his business partner, Carlos, to handle it and that he would call me within 2 hours. I did not hear back despite calling and texting again on Feb. 16, 17, 18 and 22.
On Feb. 22, 2022 I spoke to Christianna who is listed as the LLC's Principal. She gave me Carlos' phone number. I called Carlos immediately and he told me he would take care of it that evening. I sent a text confirmation of our discussion to Carlos' mobile number. Carlos responded that he would fix it on Feb. 23, 2022. My tenants waited at home all day and then informed me that Carlos did not show. I sent another text to Carlos that evening and again texted and called on Feb. 24, 2022. My calls go unanswered. I also called Christianna the morning of Feb. 24 and she told me she would call Carlos and call me within the hour. I did not hear back.
That day, I then sent an email to Manny documenting the situation and asking for a prompt resolution. Manny responded with an apology for the "miscommunication" and said Carlos would go to the house and fix the problem the next day. The tenants stayed home again and Manny did not show. When prompted he texted that he would do it "tomorrow." That would have been Feb. 26. He did not show; he did not text. The issue remains unresolved. I have only broken promises to show for all the effort.
