I had to call him back to patch an old dryer vent hole in the rear entry (as requested initially) and to try to make good on the lousy job by the window. They also failed to protect the stairway entry and I had to clean up a lot of overspray. To their credit, they were prompt in fitting us in and he did take $100 off the job. My recommendation? Think way ahead as the good rockers in Klamath are booked.

Mr Gamache was absolutely the best contractor I hired in the 11 years I have lived in Klamath Falls, and his impeccable integrity is very rare!!! There were large gaps at the top and back that let rodents into the house, and it looked dated and unappealing. Sean built a beautiful mantel and wooden frame around the stove, sealed the openings, and painted the brick white. The results are stunning--it looks custom and high-end, and the rodent problem is completely gone. He also installed new flooring throughout, including one room that previously had carpet. The bid was given and the work agreed to, with timing of the job to be completed prior to my knee replacement surgery the following week. The rest was a nightmare. What should have been an organized, professional paint, taking three days, ended up taking almost three weeks, with an unprofessional finish that did not match the original cabin stain. The "crew" showed up originally without sanders, caulk, or scrapers and did a terrible job of "prep", which I called them on, as I was onsite. Over the period of the next few weeks I had to personally manage their crew remotely, while dealing with post-surgery issues, with directions of how to actually do the work. They had zero supervision from their company. At no point did Mike come back to the cabin to actually check on the crews work, yet was adament it was done correctly. My husband drove down from Bend and took 40+ pics of the "finished" job as I was unable to travel after surgery. To make matters even worse, the daily, repeated, requests for final payment started that day, long before the job was inspected or finished. At that point I finally got Mike to travel to the cabin and see for himself what it looked like. He called me and told me he had fired his crew for their terrible work, and would send another to finish the job correctly. They did then, at the very least, applied the stain properly. I am left with a cabin that has two distinct colors and finishes (after multiple discussions regarding stain match) with wierd stop and start lines that don't meld, and shoddy prep work. Nothing about it is professional! A job I paid dearly for that wont last 2 years. I had to continually hear how they were not making any money on it as they had to travel everyday. So the long and the short is this. They talk a good talk but don't walk the walk. Value of this project: 0

He decided to do a remodel between tenants, and I managed the project for him. The job received 4 bids and Hay Residential came in as the second highest bid BUT was the most detailed and was more closely to what we estimated the job would cost. We completely remolded the master bathroom, added new floors to the entire house, fixed a broken plumbing line and replaced the drive through side gate. Jim Hay was very easy to work with and kept us updated with pictures since we don't live in the area. Jim offered cost-cutting ideas and we also contracted with him to do extra work. The job finished on time for the new tenant to be able to move in and start their pilot training. We plan to use Hay for future projects
