I shop at the store periodically and I will admit sometimes you can't find what you need. They offer clothing, shoes, home goods, intimate wear, beauty items, and such. It's definitely a hodge-podge of assorted goodies. The prices are amazing. One of the pair of sandals that I purchased were $27.99 and they only had one color. They are super comfortable. I went online to see if I could purchase them elsewhere and saw that they start at $55 and up. Holy cow! So I definitely got an amazing deal. Everytime I have gone into the store I am greeted by an employee and they are always friendly. The young man who was working was busy cleaning and organizing when I arrived, but greeted me open my entrance. When I was finished shopping he stopped what he was doing and walked right over to help with a smile. I felt like I was appreciated. With so many businesses unable to get good help this store had great help. I suggest to definitely stop by and get your shopping fix. You won't be disappointed. Oh, and Mondays you can save 10 percent if you sign up for their rewards program. Plus, when you accumulate enough points you get a coupon for $5 off your next purchase. It's a win win.

The clothes and accessories are mainly for teens and young adults and they seem to always have a sale going on. I've seen a lot of "Buy 1 get 1 for $10" sales during different seasons at different locations. Because they have such a huge selection, a lot of their stores are cramped and it's usually a cluster when I shop there. I usually get annoyed trying to navigate my way through the cluster but this particular Rue 21, however, is different. The store was still a bit crowded with everything they try to cram in there, but things were neat and organized. In addition to their clothes and accessories, they sell shoes, perfume and cologne. I like the fact that they have a wide variety of everything they sell. They not only sell perfume but they sell a bunch of different kinds of perfume and the same goes for their shoes, sunglasses, necklaces, etc. The only mishap I had with this location was that they put my accessories in a small plastic bag but forgot to put it in the large bag with the rest of my clothes. I realized they forgot when I got back to my hotel and called right away. The employee remembered as soon as I explained what happened and was very apologetic. She said they would hold it for me and I could pick it up anytime they were open. I planned to pick it up the next day, which was Sunday but I was told that they open at noon on Sundays. Say what?! I found it kind of odd that they open so late on Sundays. It's OK Rue 21, I still love ya!

It felt as though assumptions and biases were being made based clothing I was wearing or my perceived financial status or more. During the interaction, the associate made comments around Men's Wearhouse and similar retailers that they are not and that she doesn't like, which came across as dismissive and unnecessary. That said, I personally would not purchase from this store based on my experience with this associate. On a more positive note, I will note that they do offer a wide variety of selections and seem to do quality work. But overall, it's disappointing when quality customer service and professionalism are difficult to find in environments that should feel welcoming and inclusive.
