Since we were with the tour,…read morewe only tried one item, so my review is strictly based on the Schmalznudel -- but it was delicious! It's basically a freshly fried, slightly sweet dough sprinkled with sugar. It was served warm and was light and crispy on the outside while still soft inside. Definitely one of the better things I tried on our food tour! The place itself is very small, but part of the experience is being able to watch them making and frying everything fresh right through the glass window. That was really neat to see, especially knowing ours had just been made. I can't speak to the other items they offer since we didn't try them, but I would absolutely stop back for another Schmalznudel. Simple, fresh, warm and really good!

It's a great spot to sit, have a drink, people-watch and take in the beautiful surroundings. The food was really good too! We tried a couple of the flatbread-style dishes, including one with smoked salmon and greens and another with tomato, mozzarella and basil. Both were fresh, light and flavorful. We also had the goulash soup with bread, which was hearty and very good. Service was good even though the outdoor seating area was pretty busy. Overall, this was a really nice lunch stop in the middle of Munich. Good food, great atmosphere, and you really can't beat the view from the outdoor tables! Would definitely recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice.

The location is also really convenient if you're exploring the city center. The staff weren't the friendliest, but they were very busy, so it was understandable.
