It may look a little boring because at first glance, it seems to just be flatlands. But if you go a little deeper into the park, you will come across dense forests, ponds, and if you're lucky, wildlife. This park is perfect for biking, hiking, walking, going on a picnic, horse back riding, animal watching... you name it! When the weather is nice, expect to find many other people enjoying the park with you. However, people tend to visit this park come rain or shine. I love all of the added quirks that the Kommune has added to the park, like the wooden viking ship for kids to play around in, bird watching huts on top of the ponds, the nature center, and the animals. It's all very well-maintained as well! This park is a great place to bring kids or get out and connect with nature.

There are some animals you can see, there is a cafe in the nature and there are grill areas where you can cook your own food with picnic areas. At the time when we went, there where many children playing around and families having picnic and also a bunch of young people making a BBQ. At the cafe you can buy ice cream refreshments and so on but I can not remember how the food menu looked like. Just remember they accept only Dankort and when you re so far out from the city it's hard to find an ATM. I don't know what other activities you can attend but it seems there is a lot going on which you can check from the site. I recommend this as a bike ride combined with a coffee stop here!

It's…read morenot the prettiest or the cleanest park in town but it still provides great walks, views, and interaction with "wildlife." Yes, this is the park where you can pet the sheep! (and the occasional llama). They are very friendly and especially friendly if you have food! Make sure to bring sheep-friendly foods like carrots if you want their attention. They are able to associate the sound of plastic bags with food so when they hear it, they will come running! But there's also tons of other things to do in this park, i.e. fish, hike, jog, picnic, etc. There are tons of trails throughout the park and really great views of the ocean. Just remember that the park is maintained only by volunteers so be sure to keep the area clean!

No signage of any kind except at the entrances...it definitely would've been nice, but of course the phone worked fine to choose a route as we went. We had to cross through a few gates, and were hoping to see the animals they were keeping in but no such luck. We did see some horses, lots of birds, butterflies, and LOADS of banana slugs on the trails. A nice peaceful spot for a walk or ride for sure.

During the Summer, you can pack a picnic and enjoy in the the park. You can even spend a night camping! This park produces an ample harvest of apples and wild berries during the Fall. And the changing colors of the leaves is really beautiful. Lastly, you can walk through the park in your own winter wonderland during the Winter when there is snowfall. Don't forget to bring your sled so you can slide down the only "hills" in KBH. There are designated paths that are well kept and provide great routes for running or walking. But there are countless paths that branch out deep into the park if you're feeling extra adventurous. The paved paths are always well-maintained and plowed/salted when there's snow. And then there's of course, the famous "hills" that provide a nice hike and great views from the top. During your visit, don't forget to keep the park clean! They have plenty of designated trash bins on the trails and along the bike paths. Keep this place beautiful!

While the Frederiksberg Have is big enough to have an actual castle, Søndermarken is also impressive and enormous. I only saw one part of it, and it was the part containing The Cisterns, a reservoir/dripstone cave/subterranean art exhibition space that once held the city's drinking water. Nothing you could hide under a humble neighborhood park where I live. We came here on rented bikes, and it was nice to ride through this glorious scenery. The path was smooth and clean, and the lawn was an incredible uniform green. It seemed to extend for a mile, interrupted only by a fountain and the twin entrances to The Cisterns, which protruded like mini Louvre pyramids. We didn't spend much time in the actual park, but its beauty did not escape us. I'm glad The Cisterns enticed us here during our bike journey through Copenhagen.

The toilets are close to the middle of the park and there is even a spot where you can peek in on the zoo for free. Great to have a nice big green oasis in the middle of Frederiksberg. My first visit to this "garden" was back in 2013 or 2014 during the Copenhagen Cooking festival. At that time this park was full of small stands serving all sorts of food and drinks from smoked cheese, shrimps, ice cream and other food to beers from small home breweries and Danish snaps. Overall it is a beautiful little park with a fountain in the middle, a lot of benches all around, very quite and secluded. Great place to relax.
