The best banh mi in the state! My goto spot for roast duck & bbq crispy pork ribs & pork belly…read more I can't be in an Asian grocery store long lol I only go here during the off peak times to avoid the long deli line. If I need any Asian grocery items, I usually just have my mom get them for me from a list that I would send her. I am very sensitive to smell and vomit very easily so I try to go in and out of Asian grocery stores as quickly as possible and especially on an empty stomach just in case I do vomit. The raw meat section smell is terrifying at every Asian market I wish it was sectioned far away from the entrance of deli foods. But it's not & they cut the raw meats in the open air (not enclosed or closed door separate room) & the smell lingers into the entire store at every Asian market & just makes me very ill. Luckily, the deli register line is only for the deli so I can just order deli foods and check out in the same line and then I'm out the door.

Again, so many things to try. The entrees I've tried haven't been my favorite items. I'd say, definitely try a banh mi or the roast duck. Service is not really something I take into consideration when reviewing Ha Tien as there's not a ton of interaction for me, most of the time. I get in, peruse the aisles and get out.

They had reasonable options and prices compared to some other Asian food caterers and this was my main and only reason for using them. I was thoroughly pleased with their service and food quality. From placing the order to picking up the food, I had a nice experience with them. They were all very friendly and helpful. I kept my catering requests to foods that were less intricate; crispy pork, papaya salad and the fried tilapia. Everyone raved about the crispy pork. It was still, of course, crispy, by the time we ate it and yet tender at the same time. The salt level was perfect. Unfortunately, I was too full to try the papaya salad and the tilapia but I did get a taste of the papaya salad sauce because i had spilled some all over my car and got some on my fingers, on the way home. Not ashamed to say I licked off the juice because I had nothing else to wipe my hands on. What little taste I did get, tasted nice to me. Lots of people asked about where I ordered the food and costs; I was more than happy to let them know in hopes that they will also support 52 Market & Trading. Looking forward to using them again in the future.

I've ordered catering from this place multiple times for work and family celebrations and they usually are able to accommodate even when it was a last minute order (and the prices are VERY affordable- cheaper than other Asian places). A Hidden Gem in St. Paul--Vibrant, Welcoming, and Delicious!…read more We absolutely loved our visit to the Hmong Marketplace in St. Paul! It's one of those places that immediately makes you feel welcome and leaves you wondering why you hadn't come sooner. Easy to Navigate & Plenty of Parking: There's ample parking and the layout is intuitive--some produce vendors are located outside, while the inside is filled with everything from clothing and shoes to toys, household goods, and an incredible variety of food vendors. Truly the Friendliest Vendors We've Met: Every single vendor we interacted with was so kind and welcoming. My son even exclaimed, "I cannot believe how nice the people are here!" One vendor even opened a package of fruit so he could taste it before buying. The genuine hospitality made the experience unforgettable. No Cash? No Problem: Most vendors accept tap-to-pay and debit/credit cards, so there's no need to hunt for an ATM or carry cash--huge plus. COME HUNGRY. SERIOUSLY. The food court is a sensory dream. The aromas alone will have you salivating. Everything looked authentic and freshly made--we could've spent the whole day just eating our way through. We also picked up produce we can never find in our local grocery stores, and the prices were incredibly reasonable for the quantity and quality. A Beautiful Cultural Hub: It's more than just a market--it's a vibrant community space. It was heartwarming to see the Hmong refugee community gathered in a place where they can support one another, share their culture, and offer goods from their homeland. There's a real sense of pride and resilience here, and it's something you feel the moment you walk in. If you're in St. Paul and want an experience that's rich in culture, flavor, and human connection, make the Hmong Marketplace a top priority. You'll leave full--in both belly and spirit.

Definitely worth coming here for the foods!…read more There are tons of places to order different things that you'll crave the next day. Found ourselves ordering from different stalls and found out each one offers different type of purple rice! Tables here are better than the village. This place is also bigger and lots of tables to sit. It's indoor so a lot cooler during summer. Shop around though since each stalls offers almost the same things but different pricing.

The decor is no nonsense but clean. We came here during lunch on a weekday & we were the only ones there so it worked well for a lunch mtg & conversation. We were given hot tea right away which felt welcoming on a cold fall day. I ordered the photo-pleasing thali which comes with an assortment of items but the momos were the star of the show. The service was attentive throughout our meal. The food is vegan friendly too. I wanted to try more items so ended up getting the goat curry & noodles to-go. Noodles were slightly too salty but still ate it all. Goat curry was good. My coworker is from northern India & said this good tastes authentic & reminds her of home. High praise! As someone who aspires to cook Nepali & Tibetan dishes but hasn't invested the time yet to learn, I'm so glad this place exists! This place may seem slightly on the more expensive side, but everything is shareable & multiple meals so worth it! Check out this small local restaurant & make sure to stop by the grocery next store too.
