This is the old Hejaz Golf Club under new owner a few years back. The new owners have brought life…read moreback to a great public golf course. The greens are some of the best in town and the fairways get better filled in every year. Traps are mostly redone and the creek on #8 is beautifully cleaned up and widened with rock water features. The grill is fantastic for burgers and beers after a round. They are super accommodating to leagues and we get a great rate for walking 9 holes every week. Glad in an era where some of the great public courses are tiring into new subdivisions that Thai course is opening and back in its glory. The owners also bought another distressed course The Rock a few years back. I have heard they are turning that course around as well. If you haven't played here in a awhile book a tee time and enjoy.

Staff is friendly, fast, and attentive…read more I visited this location twice in one week, both times we had a group of 4-5 people. Such a great activity for all ages! The food was great finger food options. The drinks were good as well. I appreciated that when our pitcher of beers were placed on the table, the pitchers had a cold metal in the middle to keep our pitcher cold. Booking is easily done online, which is how we reserved our bags. I did find it a bit troublesome when I tried to adjust my reserved time for 30mins later (which was literally 10 mins after I booked online) , but when I spoke to someone on the phone they said I would have to cancel my whole reservation and book a new one. I ended up sticking to my original time, but it was a slight bummer that I wasn't able to just have assistance with pushing my slot back 30mins when before I booked it the time would have been available anyways.

Reviews from earlier in the year had steered me away. However, over the past month or so reviews…read morehave turned positive. I think it's fair to say the course came under new management this year, and for the better. Unlike prior reviews, fairways were mowed well, as was the rough, all to proper height. Except for 9, the greens were in great shape. I like greens that are about a 10-11 on stimp, and these were about there, and rolled well. The tees were also in great shape. The fairways and tees have junk grasses that will abate in time with the proper maintenance that the course seems to be getting now. But they are lush and full. I give this one a 3 simply because it has a ways to go, but this is no longer the worst course out there. I'd give it a 3.5, but not yet a 4. A couple greens on the back nine are still recovering with a couple bad spots but nothing like 9. The layout is good, not overly difficult, but not the easiest either. With the course on the mend, they can turn their attention to the carts, and the cart paths. My cart ran well, but the seat cushion was ripped on both sides, and there was no sand dispenser for filling divots. So keep your eye on this one and give them some more time to bring this one around. This could well become one of the best public courses in the area. Keep up the good work there at Palmetto Hills!! And it was well worth the $30.
