We hired Chris for our daughter's wedding reception last weekend and couldn't have been more pleased. He worked with us on the menu to get exactly what my daughter and her fiancé wanted for the dinner. He provided us with a tasting of the exact menu so we knew ahead exactly what we were getting. Everything was so delicious!! We also did appetizers before the dinner and he had a nice selection to choose from. Our guests were very complimentary of the food. Chris and the staff were all amazing. They even helped us out by serving the cake that we provided! I am so very happy that we chose Kathleen's Catering for our event and would highly recommend them!! Thanks Chris and staff!

Another Sorority Sister and I went to Star yesterday to get Melissa two jars of Golden Eagle. In general, any sauce or unique condiment you want is generally available at Star Market! Hubs and I love "Bishop's 3 'N' 1 Stuff Barbecue Sauce" and it's only available at Star Market. Try Bishop's it's good on any type of meat! We browsed around a little and per usual, their meat department was well stocked and well displayed. Hubs did not want a Terry's pizza this time and I by passed that little department in the back. Star Market carries unique and regional things like delicious pimento cheeses and I think I've seen Chicken Salad Chick for sale in Star, also. Sister and I wine shopped because Star Market typically carried a great selection of inexpensive unoaked white wines (Simply Naked was the label and they make unoaked Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay) that I enjoyed and now they don't appear to carry the Simply Naked brand. We did get a chilled Kim Crawford unoaked Chardonnay which was good! The staff are always friendly and helpful and most importantly chatty as you check out at Star Market. For Terry's Pizza (and Terry's lasagna) either baked at Star or take and bake; a great variety of delicious meats; good wine selection; and unique sauces, condiments, and refrigerated local items, definitely go to Star Super Market. Star is locally owned and operated and has served this region since 1944.

Publix has become the leading name in the supermarket field here in the southeast. Once you…read moreexperience a Publix supermarket yourself, I am confident that you will understand how Publix has become such an iconic supermarket brand and has developed such a loyal customer base down here in the southeast. Publix has created a solid reputation by offering incredible customer service, great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals and we cannot forget their subs, which are affectionately known as "Pub Subs." Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a way it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. It is great to see Publix expanding beyond the boundaries of their home state of Florida and spreading throughout the southeast. Not only am I happy about it, but I am confident that the communities that Publix opens a location in are very grateful for a Publix opening by them. I would definitely recommend this particular Publix location or any Publix location and I give it five stars.

The pharmacy drive through is slow af most of the time. Inside and out they require your birth date, address, and signature to pick up your medicine. One of these should be sufficient. The deli is slow and doesn't stay stocked half the time with popcorn chicken and sides. The prepared foods in the refrigerated case are hit or miss plus a lot of the items are not secured on both sides. It's gotten to where I don't trust anything from there. God how I wish there was another grocery store to choose from that's not so far out of my way especially when driving to work.

I've had my eye on this fairly new food truck for a couple of months now. I found them parked at…read morethe Orion and decided to choose them for my lunch. They did have a special German menu running, but I'd heard some not-great reviews about all the "specialty" German food being served for the event. I'm very picky about German food and decided it would probably be for the best that I stick to their regular menu. This truck styles itself as Nicaraguan and American fusion. They have familiar offerings like Philly cheesesteaks and cheeseburgers, and then more Central American fare like pollo asado or Nicaraguan-seasoned mojo pork. I was most intrigued by their Valenciana rice: rice with peas, shredded chicken, carrots, and pork sausage. This meal is served with two dinner rolls. So that's what I ordered. The woman running the register was very warm and I was pleased and surprised at how quickly my food came out despite them being relatively busy. My main detractor of the whole experience was that I am not sure if the portion size matched the price. About $15 for relatively inexpensive ingredients (the chicken and sausage being the most expensive thing in the dish -- that said, neither was especially abundant) and the size of the dish was pretty small. The picture I posted makes the rice look more plentiful than it was; there wasn't any extra rice beneath the two rolls. I was satisfied after eating it for lunch, but wouldn't have been if it were dinner (dinner tends to be my largest meal of the day), and you might not be either if you're packing a large appetite. Price and portion size aside, I thought the food was quite good. The rice was fluffy and the sausage was tender. I discovered a few bites in that I enjoyed opening up the rolls and stuffing them with the rice mixture -- a very carby sandwich, as it were. The sausage gave the dish a unique sweetness that I liked. It wasn't spicy, but it was certainly flavorful. I was happy with my selection for lunch and would try this truck again if given the opportunity.
