They were helpful, pleasant and just nice. There was a drink on the menu that had an unusual ingredient, Massenez Roquefort Liqueur, a blue cheese liqueur that sounded questionable. It was amazing, 3 out of 4 at the table loved it and the other liked it but it was a bit unusual for her. The food, while simple, was excellent. They don't have much of a kitchen but the salads, cheese plates, cold soup and the flatbreadwere excellent. Plenty of flavor, fresh ingredients and all had just a small twist that made everything standout. We tried all 3 desserts and all were great. The goat cheese tart with plums was a table favorite. Will we be back, YES. Will we bring friends here, YES. It is definitely one of my 2 favorite restaurants in Cambridge and that is only after 1 meal.

Vintage 414 is a hidden gem in downtown Cambridge. The space had an option to sit at a table or at…read morethe bar. The bar was super cute and had arrangements of fresh local flowers for sale. I ordered two glasses of sparkling rosé. Both were hefty pours :) there was a very wide selection of wines to choose from. The cocktail menu was super creative and drinks were names of songs by popular artists. I almost got the "Too Drunk to F***" but decided to save that for next time. The menu is limited, but enough choices to snack on and share without leaving hungry. We chose the marinated olives which were served with baguette slices. There were a variety of olives, including several types of green olives, and I believe some Kalamata olives. This was reminiscent of an olive tapenade which I almost would've given the bread that was served with it. We also ordered the cheese shortbread, which was tasty. We had narrowed it down to two flat breaths, but went with the caramelized onion flatbread. It did not disappoint. I love onions, so could have even went with a few more onions on there. It was the perfect size to share or as a standalone meal for one. We finished with the peach buttermilk cake. Again, it was the perfect portion to share. I especially loved the ice cream, which was smooth and a nice contrast to the peach buttermilk cake. The whole plate was the perfect amount of sweet without being overpowering! Cute lil spot in downtown Cambridge that had friendly and warm vibes!

They don't have a huge selection of American Craft beers or Belgian or German beers, however. But that may not be their market here in Delaware. I was able to get some Dogfish Head, because that's kind of close and they had decent prices on Guiness. A broader selection of American Craft beers would bump this up to a four star review, but it's still a nice place and worth stopping as you're driving down the Delmarva.

I don't know if it's a tax thing or what, but most of the liquor stores promote themselves as cheaper than those in Maryland. After striking out on really good beer at Liquid Assets in Seaford (still a nice place, just a different focus on beer) I stopped by here before crossing over into MD. In terms of cases and six packs, they were not that varied but they did have good bottles of Three Philosophers, Duvel, Chimay and a few others. The people were nice and I was called "sir" twice. There was a guy stocking the shelves that heard me say something about scotch and said dude not for nothing but this sampler of scotch here is a really good deal. I bought it not knowing much about scotch and my scotch loving friends were like you paid what for that?! $25 for 3 200 ml bottles of scotch that sells for $60 - $100 for a 750ml bottle. Makes the package worth at least $70 and I picked up another one for a gift on the way home. They had a really good selection of beer too with kegs etc. Store was really nice too. Thanks to the guy that recommended the scotch if you see this, and also the 375 ml bottle of patron silver for $20. Definitely a must stop if you are on route 13 right across the MD border.
