Artistic Blinds primarily specialises in blinds ranging from solar powered to artistic canopies and smoking shelters. The exterior of the building is a little tatty and unprofessional which might put some people off, however the quality of the blinds are really quite good. Inside, there is 64 wall boards which show the variety of products available which although does its job, is a little overwhelming. Staff are friendly and offered me coffee whilst I was browsing, and they were very confident in their knowledge of their products.

The beauty of shops like this is the price - they'll invariably do you a better deal than the megastore chains, especially if you take the time to have a chat and perhaps a little bargain with them. It's all about supporting the little guys - so next time a light blows be sure to visit Searle & Co.

We are constantly amazed that whenever we can't find something anywhere else, Searle & Co have more often than not come up trumps. On the rare occasion that they can't help, the friendly man points us in the direction of another brilliant one-man-band store who can. The staff look like a bunch of kids doing a stretch of community service, but are really helpful, good humoured and hard working. They'll go out of their way to try and find you what you want, and will pass you onto the Gaffa or Gaffa's mate if they come unstuck in their search. I recently bought a manhole cover for £20 to stand my wood burner on, after discussing the usage at length with the boss. I was offered assurance that it would do the job without presenting a fire risk, and was offered additional advice about how to fix it and where I could go if I needed help with welding. They can accommodate your every need and would definitely recommend. PS every sale they make under £5 is donated to the Bristol Children's Hospital.

On the tool side of things they have everything from drills to sanders to decorating equipment. The plant section is equally stocked with anything you could desire such as mini diggers, dumpers, and compressors. There's a free delivery service if you're local and if you're not it's not much more anyway. Their kit is always in excellent condition and their rates are very competitive. They can deliver sand and gravel, remove waste, supply drivers - frankly quite a lot of things. If it's tool / plant hire you need, you can do much worse than giving these guys a call.

We went to their workshop and they were extremely helpful and friendly. We looked at different…read morematerials and the options that were available (we selected quartz) and they gave us a quote for the work. The work went ahead and they arrived on the arranged date and measured up. The quartz was prepared and fitted about 10 days later. We had the worktops, upstands and splashback fitted and it was installed, joined and finished to an excellent standard (I have never seen better) and to the agreed schedule. The adhesive used did smell while setting but this soon went away. All the work was completed with minimal fuss or mess. The worktop is really spectacular and our builder was extremely impressed and has also recommended Marble Supreme. I would definitely use them again.

They have helped me out on nemerous occasions when I have come in here looking for obscure sized batteries or DIY equipment. As well as DIY equipment they also sell such things as batteries, lights, kitchen equipment, household goods and they also cut keys. Their prices are really reasonable, often cheaper than the big DIY shops.
