I had to drive 6.5 hours through a complete wide out snowstorm, accompanied by ice which resulted…read morein me checking in late. Worn out and stressed. I walk through the doors to an attitude from Tanya saying I was the last person to check in. And apparently she had to stay until I got there. On top of that, the out front unloading zone and parking lot had not even been plowed or treated with salt. Therefore, what a hassle trying to get your luggage in the middle of the night. As everyone knows the brand Wyndham is typically on target however this location is not. For the price of the rooms and the brand was very disappointed, not only with the service but the condition of the room. I will say my bed was very comfortable however, the pillows needed thrown away as there was really nothing left to them as you picked them up they folded into and were all floppy. Zero support! My duvet cover showed a huge rip that had been sewn back together, Underneath the heating unit, there were all kinds of wires that had been spliced sticking out, grabbing your feet when you went by, cloth chair, a huge stain on it, mini fridge was frozen up, coffee pot was dirty, dirt around bathroom vanity faucet, bathroom exhaust fan didn't work at all, peeling paint from the bathroom mirror frame, grout in the bathroom with two different colors, tub drained very slow, towel had someone else's hair on it, bathroom door frame all scratched up, remote control was dirty, and some features not even work on it, wasn't able to connect to Wi-Fi the entire time there. As I missed my dog on the trip, I stopped at the front desk to ask if there were breed restrictions and the cost.... Quickly, the lady rolled her eyes ( same lady that checked me in with the attitude ) and ask what I had, followed by an attitude as to why it cost a extra$ 75 per night for a dog ( keep in mind I didn't ask why ) but she definitely lead on that. She didn't appreciate dogs being there and she said it would be cheaper to leave them at home. She stated that everything has to be taken out of the room and cleaned afterwards. Yes I expected that but the level of attitude I received was very unwelcoming. Perhaps it's time for a career change for this individual as she is leaving a negative impact on this hotel. Can we say " bad apple "? Everyone else here was very friendly. Noticed same bags of trash, set out by the residence for pick up for days. Elevators were a slushy mess in the lobby coming in pretty much the same. Wasn't able to enjoy the heated pool or hot tub due to unruly children running, screaming out of control as they were doing cannonballs....and of course, the parents were doing nothing. Parking was a train wreck as they didn't plow any of the parking lot or parking spaces, therefore it took up a lot more space because people couldn't see the lines and a lot of people had to park at the bank next-door and lug all their stuff across the snowy parking lot. OK now for what I did enjoy. Bed was comfortable and clean, rosemary, scented toiletries, hot complementary breakfast with delicious coffee. Friendly and helpful staff ( except for gray hair lady at the front desk ). Great location for walking to and from on a ski trip.

I have mixed feelings about this stay. On the one hand, the proximity to everything in…read moreEllicottville is unbeatable, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. While the breakfast was just so-so, the coffee was actually pretty good. However, a front desk agent named Tanya completely ruined what could have been a great experience. As a handler of two service animals, I was shocked by her lack of knowledge regarding the ADA. Upon check-in, she asked questions about my specific disability, forced me to sign a "pet form" (service animals are not pets), and aggressively threatened to evict me if the dogs barked--despite them being silent and well-behaved. It created a hostile environment immediately. To make matters worse, my room keys were deactivated four times in two days, and when I tried to book a second night directly through Wyndham instead of Expedia to fix a rewards issue (as Tanya suggested), she was rude, dismissive, and refused a simple upgrade or late checkout even though the hotel was visibly empty. The physical hotel is nice, but until they train their staff on federal law and basic hospitality, I can't recommend staying here if you want to feel welcome.

"Breakfast" would be a stretch with a couple cereals and some prepackaged breads. Half the tables and chairs at breakfast because owner said they were broken. Even a broken chair in our closet. Breakfast starts at 8...sharp. In a town with a ski resort where the resort opens at 8:30. Why it doesn't start 2 hours before the slopes starts I don't understand. Talked to another unhappy guest who arrived at 1:30. Check-in not until 3 and they asked if they could just change in their room (after owner determined it was ready) and they told him it would be $35. Absolutely ridiculous. Will NEVER be back. Used to stay here all the time under the old owners and these new owners couldn't care less about the guest. Just cutting costs and making sure every extra penny is captured from the guest. Good riddance.

The bed had 10 curly hairs all over the pillowcases and under the covers. The heat was not on the room was 10 degrees when we walked in, so cold that when we took our shoes off our socks got wet. I called the front desk and he said if you gave a complaint come see me and hung up on me. I went in and he started screaming at his housekeeper in a different language and then went back behind the desk. We stood there not knowing what to do as he started helping another customer, then cuts that convo off mid sentence and yells "GO BACK TO ROOM! OR THEY WILL NOT CHANGE SHEETS!" We were like oh ok this place crazy.

Inn At Holiday Valley - Our view. Ski in/out was great. Updates are needed, breakfast was okay - staff was amazing! Edna's was perfection!!

I am also thinking we had a child above us as we heard running overhead for a few hours. But stopped about 10pm. They had a grab and go breakfast- coffee, tea, oj, muffins, yogurt, fruit and cereal. That was really nice. Pool was open but way too cold for our liking. Would I come back maybe? But maybe at one if the other hotels. Employees were courteous and helpful.

As of 06.28.20, COVID-19 restrictions were not posted on the property's website or in the email confirmation I received. Complimentary continental breakfasts were still listed but not offered. No mention of restricted housekeeping procedures was mentioned. Reservations are required to use the pool but the front desk fails to answer the phone despite multiple attempts. While these restrictions may seem apparent to management, not every guest is from New York, engaged in the hospitality industry, or facing the same restrictions elsewhere. The room we were assigned apparently had not been occupied in weeks, perhaps months. Dead leaves & cobwebs were around the entry door. The room had a musty smell upon entering. Cobwebs were in the corners at the ceiling. Patio furniture had not been cleaned. The indoor/outdoor pool had not been vacuumed for some . According to my wife, the decor is due for an update but I didn't mind it. The TV is small & there is no microwave, both contrary to today's amenities at most properties. The charging stations for mobile devices is in the base of the nightstand lamps but are of little use when plugged into an outlet controlled by the room's wall switch. Fortunately, my phone which I use for my wake-up alarm did not completely drain of power overnight. Positive points are 1st floor king rooms have a private exterior entry only feet from the parking lot. Rear French doors lead to a small patio adjacent to a large common green space which could be an advantage if you have rambunctious children or a pet accompanying you (provided you clean up after it). The location is adjacent to the slopes & a short drive from the center of town. To say it is within walking distance of downtown probably exceeds most people's expectations. In winter & desperate to ski with more convenient lodgings unavailable, this would not be a terrible choice. In summer, I would consider booking elsewhere. We ultimately decided to cancel the final day of our summer stay. __________________________ Fellow Yelpers! Since there is no night skiing available the snow isn't super packed down. The staff was attentive, helpful and friendly. Since this is a private club it definitely feels like it's own community and seems very family oriented. When I have gone there aren't wild and rowdy teens which is a plus. The good news is that on weekdays anyone can buy a pass to check out this awesome place. You can buy online to get a small discount. I have only gone during the week and there haven't been serious crowds or lines. I am not sure about the weekends but since it's members only I'm sure it's not nearly as busy as some of the other local public resorts. The lodges are cozy and accommodating. There is now a cafeteria here in the main lodge which has plenty to choose from. You are also free to bring your crockpots or picnic style lunches to enjoy. There are tons of indoor and outdoor seating options, many large grills for anyone to use and a cool fire pit to sit and relax. There are rentals, lessons and a specialty adaptive ski program available. During covid masks were worn inside and outside and this was enforced by staff. Hand sanitizing stations were set up all over. There was also a large, outdoor, well ventilated tent this year to provide extra seating during covid. Another fun perk that makes this place unique is there are many gorgeous homes on the hills and around the trails. It's fun to see them when you are on the lift and skiing down the hills.

Holiday Valley is the best "local" ski resort (in my case local means a 3 hour drive each way). I…read moream willing to make the drive since Holiday Valley provides a great ski day. The resort has 750 feet of vertical, but it skies much bigger than that, the large variety of slopes and challenges provides a rich experience. Parking at Holiday Valley is free, but on a busy day you may have a bit of a walk, especially if you are heading to the Main Lodge, but you can park at one of the other 2 base lodges, they are smaller but still very nice. My biggest complaint at the Main Lodge is that you will encounter a couple of sets of stairs to get to the slopes. Inside the lodge there are plenty of seating, bathrooms, rentals, ski shops and the usual ski lodge food. The Tannenbaum Lodge does provide a couple of rooms where you can leave your bags and bring your own food, which is very convenient. From the Main Lodge you have 2 primary lift choices, Cindy's Quad and the Mardi Gras Express; both keep the lines moving at a good pace and allow you access to the rest of the resort. The lift system overall works well to keep you moving and the lines at a reasonable level. This year Holiday Valley has gone to a RFID lift ticket which was a bit challenging to find the right location for the card to consistently activate the gates, once I figured it out it was pretty smooth. Holiday Valley offers plenty of challenge and with its location in the lake effect snow belt it usually gets great snow coverage. On my recent day trip I found the skiing better than my earlier trip to Lake open runs like Mardi Gras to rollicking narrower trails through the woods. The Black trails are always welcome with Champagne, Yodeler and Edelweiss usually worth multiple runs. Typically, 1 or 2 of these will have one side groomed and the other side moguls. There are plenty of glade tree skiing runs and a couple of terrain parks off of the Morningstar Express Lift. They even have a Double Black Diamond run, although it was not open this trip. For my most recent visit I took advantage of the Cabin Fever Days promotion to get a $25 lift ticket at selected ski shops; plenty of other people also took advantage of the promotion so it was busy for a Tuesday. Conditions were great, almost the whole resort was open. After a nice morning of skiing the Blue and Black runs, I did feel so good that I skied some of the moguls and took a few runs through the Happy Glades which is the first time I have been tree skiing in several years. I also did take a short midday stop at the Tannenbaum Lodge for a quick warm up. Holiday Valley consistently receives high marks as one of the best resorts in the East, it also gets more skier visits than any other resort in New York. I have been skiing Holiday Valley for more than three decades and I always have a great time. The drive there and back can be challenging at times, but that just means the resort is getting plenty of snow. If you are looking for a great day of skiing Holiday Valley should be on your list. In addition, the town of Ellicottville is a charming ski town and Salamanca offers a full-service Casino and resort.

They have tons of ski equipment/snowboarding, a large cafeteria on the second floor, daycare service, and a cool little bar. I'm still taking back at how nice all the skiers were. Basically everyone welcoming you to sit at their table while eating, and helping when they see you're in distress. I'd like to call that unity. You could see large groups of friends, couples, families with small children and solo skiers all having the time of their life. I was impressed that you could safely leave your skis outside on the rack and no one bothered them. That doesn't happen in Columbus, Ohio. lol This lodge is something you would see out of a magazine as it is magnificent in every way. My favorite was the large, second floor outside patio area with comfy chairs to sit and rest in between racing down the slopes. Just a place to kick back and catch your breath, and it's right off of the bar area, how convenient is that? On the first level, there is a huge locker room area with digital lockers, where you'll see everyone either bundling up or stripping down. In the cafeteria on the second floor, like I mentioned before has a huge array of delicious items to refuel your system. As you walk in the dining area, you will see a huge room with wraparound windows and I could not even tell you how many tables and chairs, and an enormous fireplace....which was a bit too warm for my liking, but I just took off a few layers and I was fine. On the first floor adjacent to the bottom of the slope, you will find a very toasty warm Starbucks offering not only their signature coffees and snacks, but also a wall of alcohol, alcoholic beverages, along with whiskey. Guess you gotta stay warm somehow. They also have a large glass ice water tower for those that want to pop in and get a quick hydrate before heading back out. And the slopes... unbelievable!!!! You literally have so much to choose from. And they are all meticulously cared for. Lastly, they have ski lessons on hand for the beginners. Overall, I was impressed and look forward to my next visit . Thank you holiday Valley!!!!
