The Great Mosque of Bursa was the last mosque we visited in Turkiye. It's located in the city centre and was built from 1396 - 1399. It's plain on the exterior but the interior is grand. To enter as a female, one must cover one's head. Also, you must remove your shoes. There are shoe racks nearby for quick storage and I believe you can borrow a head covering if needed. The many domes atop a square structure is reminiscent of the Seljuk Turkish period which predates the Ottoman Style. The mosque is impressive and is still a religious space so be respectful when entering. As one of the most visited religious landmarks in Turkiye, it offers an unparalleled glimpse into early Ottoman architecture, Islamic art, and spiritual heritage. read more
