We were first referred to Brant Transmission back in 2009 and from that point onward Chris became our "go to" mechanic. We have recently moved to another town which is several kms further away from Burlington, BUT we still continue to take our two vehicles to Chris for all our major repairs and mechanical maintenance. Although I am certain there are some very honest and knowledgeable mechanics in the town where we now live, I have long ago learned that once you have found a mechanic like Chris, you drive the extra few kms.

They replaced my transmission for around $6,500. but DIDN'T put a rear axle seal transfer case. I…read moreused their warranty to ask them to resolve this issue. It is so frustrating that after them having my only car for TWO DAYS at the store, that they didn't install a rear axle seal transfer case. I only found out after taking the car back to my family's mechanic. By then, the warranty was over. Then the family mechanic said that the resolution is ordering a new part directly from the car's manufacturer, and having to pay parts and labour for this to be installed. Very unhelpful.

Tuesday afternoon went in the garage and the car wouldn't start. Phoned CAA for a tow and once they…read moreconfirmed that it wasn't the battery, towed it to My Smart Automotive. Had never been there before but since it was 3 km away and the Subaru dealer was 20+ km away decided to try it. They quickly diagnosed it as the timing belt. Fixed it quickly, had the car back Wednesday afternoon, within 24 hr. I appreciated not only the quick fix but also the time they took to explain the repair and the costs. We are sure we would have waited days longer and paid more if we had dealt with the dealership. Great job, quickly done at a fair price!

I left my car there for the whole day. When I got the call to come back, they had told me they do not know what the issue is and that the only way they could find the issue, is to change the entire clutch mechanism (including slave cylinder, clutch fluid cylinder, clutch and accessories). After changing everything, they would be able to figure out the problem with my clutch. They also charged me for filling up my clutch fluid even though it was full when I brought it to them. When I told them it was full when I brought my car to them, they told me I was looking at the wrong fluid container. The next day I went to a different mechanic who told me it was 100% the clutch plate or the clutch fork. It ended up being the clutch fork which took the other mechanic shop 5 minutes to figure out while Danny's Transmission Service spent the whole day with my car and even when I got there, it took someone 10 minutes to finally come to the front desk (after repeatedly dinging the bell) From this experience, it seems that this place of business was attempting to scam me. One of the worst mechanic experiences I have ever had, I will never go here again!

I had been to the Speedy Auto located at 760 Guelph Line Burlington, ON twice before in 2019 to…read moreservice my car and to change the brakes. The manager Dan was not particularly friendly.... but quite dismissive when I asked him questions about fixing the problems in my car. I decided not to go back there again because I felt he was very abrupt in the way he talked to me. My 17yr old son recently got his G2 driving license and we intended on getting a car from a family friend. It needed to be serviced. Unfortunately, they went to the speedy auto location where Dan was the manager. When I found out, I was not to elated about that. I went with my son the next day to pick the car up. We had some further questions regarding safety issues of the car. My family friend who was still the owner of the car was discussing with Dan on speaker over my phone and Dan also proceeded to talk to her to explain the issues concerning the car. My son and I were close by listening to the conversation.... all of a sudden... from nowhere, when he finished explaining what he needed to say he looked at me with his finger in a gesticulating motion and said "Now take your car and get out!!". I Was shocked beyond belief! I looked at my son and I was like " Did he just talk to me, to us that way?" I am a professional woman of color and I was appalled by Dans behavior. This was racist in my opinion because there was no credible reason why Dan spoke to me and my son that way! I hardly said anything when he flipped on me and my son. It was uncalled for unnecessary and very unprofessional. Dan practically kicked us out for no apparent reason! I will definitely be reporting this to the appropriate authorities. Dan is obviously racist and is selective in his behavior to his other preferred clients. I want people to know my experience and it happened yesterday September 11th 2020 at this Speedy Auto location. It is unacceptable and people should know the kind of person/ manager Dan really is.
