I had MOH's surgery at Dr. Burkes along with Dr. Thornton. It was the worst experience I have ever had, and I had 3 other MOH's surgeries to compare it to which were done in Annapolis. The stitches were left in way to long & the directions for caring for the extensive wound they created were unheard of by any other dermatologist. The worst part was, with a highly infected wound, 3/4 of the stitches were removed without numbing or pain medicine. The rest were left in for another week that ended up imbedded and needed to be cut out. Both doctors did nothing to address any concerns. Please go elsewhere for care. read more

The front desk was extremely rude. All they say when you walk up is "checking in- checking out?" To every person that walked up to them. How about good morning- How can I help you? De Brooks saw my father in law. He had zero bedside manner. The practice is a factory and noone that works there goes above and beyond. We will not be going back- after two visits. I came in for an appointment and had bloodwork done. One of my labs flagged for having ANA & the nurse (without prior knowledge of my medical history) called to inform me that I have lumpus. I naturally have lower vitamin D and I've known this for years and I have antibodies, but I do not have an autoimmune disorder (confirmed by my PCP) & I had to play phone tag with my provider multiple times about the situation and I have been; hung up on, dismissed and rudely told that I have a condition that I have been keeping track with my PCP about. I would not recommend this practice due to the lack of staffing, professionalism & not fully looking at the whole patient. Please go somewhere else. read more

I had skin cancer on my hairline. I scheduled Mohs surgery and was treated by Dr. Holzer. he performed the biopsy and I went to the waiting room. he had to reenter due to the margins. after that he and the nurse left the room. I had blood coming out of my incision and got all over my clothes, while hollering for help as I was alone. my husband heard me and came running into the room. then the doctor and nurse came back in and apologized. won't happen again with Dr. Holzer. this was in June of last year. I have been treated by Drew many times with no issues. I do not recommend Dr. Holzer and he will not be treating me in the future. read more

This was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a medical provider. I was in the middle of a three-visit treatment series with Dr. Brooks at Burke Dermatology. Due to inclement weather and a road closure, I arrived at his office at 11:55 for a 11:45 appointment. I was advised that he would not be able to see me due to my late arrival. I explained the situation and told the front desk that it was only ten minutes after my scheduled appointment. I was then told that Dr. Brooks, took the patient scheduled next and would be going to lunch at 12pm. I further explained that I had just drove an hour to the office and asked if I could be put in the slot of the person he was in with that was scheduled after me. The "girl" repeated, he is going to lunch at 12pm. I had been in the healthcare field for 34 years prior to retirement. Never had I seen this lack of concern and compassion for a patient by a healthcare provider. Needless to say, I will not be returning to complete my treatment with Dr. Brooks. read more

A few months ago i had an appointment with Dr. Burke for a routine skin exam. He was friendly and conversant with me and overall professional. Recently, I had a situation with a back rash with lumps, etc; very nasty. I got in right away and the PA Drew Venables saw me. I bright intelligent young man with a friendly approach; an exam and long conversation. I left grafull for the diagnosis and certain remedy prescriptions were sent to my pharmacy; Cape May Pharmacy and ready a couple hours later. read more

This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had with so called "medical professionals" in the United States. Although a patient at the Dover office for years, the Rehoboth Beach office is so unprofessionally run, it is scary and potentially dangerous. Case in point, I had an appointment on 9/7/2016 and went for blood work immediately afterwards as instructed. The test came back and there was no prescription called in (except a topical cream) for 23 days. The prescription put in went to the wrong Rite Aide store. I live in Millsboro, and the offrice staff called it into Long Neck some miles away. I called to complain, and the office personnel hung up the phone on me. Later the office manager decided to tell me the fault was with my insurance company, Aetna. Regardless, I told them they could prescribe a different solution or alternative solution until a decision was reached with the insurance company. They did not prescribe alternative treatment until I called yet again. Then the office said they would give me two samples of injectable Humira to "TIDE" me over until Aetna approved the medication. I went this morning 10/3/2016 at 8:00 AM to receive this drug and they handed to me through the sliding office window with an attitude and with absolutely no instruction on how to take the medicine. I am afraid to take this medication as Dr. Burke's office personnel may have mishandled it since Humira must be kept cold or cool and properly stored. This box was warm and could be hazardous to use. Keep in mind heart failure is a side effect of Humira and improperly stored Humira??? Finally, I have left a message for the doctor himself to call me over a month ago and still not received a call from the doctor. I know doctors are busy but if Yelp is the only way to make it publicly known then so be it. I did let the Dover office know about the problem but they notified the Rehoboth office who called me to say the doctor is too busy to speak with patients. Do yourself a favor and avoid this office even if you need to drive a greater distance. I have made an appointment with another dermatologist in a different town to protect my health. read more

Dr. Burke is great. I read a review complaining about wait time and mentioned it to him. He explained that he not only examines patients, but also does surgery across the hall. After losing my sister to melanoma, and having other skin cancers in the family, I can tell you he is doing good work. He is professional, kind, and just froze a pre cancer on my lip that he found. Burke Dermatology is one if the most professional and caring offices...Great staff lead by the outstanding Dermatologist, Dr. Burke. They discovered my husband's Melonoma and immediately set up the proper channels for the problem to be addressed. Dr. Burke and his staff kept in constant contact while my husband was being treated. Worst experience I have ever had with a dermatologist! Had 3 problems and was told they would only address 1 at a visit. I needed to schedule 3 more visits....I don't think so!!! It's all about money! Have had an injection every 6 mos for a problem (non steroid) for years and was told I was just wanting steroids and he would not give them to me. Records sent 2 months ago from previous Dr that retired......was told they did not have access to them as they were in a storage facility!!! He would have know it was not a steroid if he had gotten my records out!!!! read more
